I ran out of white sugar and all I need is a tablespoon. I do have some Karo syrup. Can I use that as a substitute? How much do I adjust the measurment?

if all you need is a tablespoon of sugar for your recipe
it will be fine without that tablespoon of sugar
but a tablespoon of karo syrup won't hurt it either

The answer is typically no, but only a tablespoon Probably is not going to hurt any thing but Honey would be closer to sugar if you have it. But if all you have is karo syrup it should not change the taste that much to make it earth shattering...

Yes, Karo is a corn sweetener with a high sugar content but it is made of corn not sugar cane or sugar beets. My suggestion would be to try using a craft glue. Both of the things you have mentioned will not harden at all let alone help you to construct something.

Probably not. Karo syrup has corn syrup and mollases which can alter the results of your recipe.

Nope, it's nothing like sugar. Go ask your neighbors to lend you some.

No.

You'd be changing the flavour, the consistency of the batter, and the texture of the finished product.

It will make a difference. Try it. If you like it you can do it again.
