Define your friendship. You can love a sinner with all your heart- Jesus did. But if you condone their sin, or let them lead you into it as well, then you are in big trouble. When they asked Jesus why He hung out with sinners, He said, "It is the sick who have most need of a physician." Try to introduce your friend to the Physician who can help him/her put things right.

The bible says to be not unequally yoked together with nonbelievers. Now if one has been washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed on the cross so many years ago, then this persons views of the world will begin to change as God lives in them now. So eventually they won't relate in the same way anymore to their old friends. Sure they will still love them. Probably their old friends will think it strange that they don't run to the old sinful pleasures like they once did. It is a fact, that when someone gets hooked up with God, they are sure to loose the close friendships they held while still entangled in this world.

Ofc the bible would say not to hang out with people who dont believe in thebible because they dont want u to discover the truth and that the bible is all hypocrisy.
1st of all... in the bible it says that God said all sin is concidered equal. Not one sin is bigger than the other. 2nd of all If God said we cant be friends with sinners I guess Jesus is screwed. Bible was written BY man and 300 YEARS AFTER christ died. Everything in it has been changed added to and taken from a thousand times over and over again. Man who wrote the bible are people who believed the world was flat and not round.
Do a little research and learning about what other people believe and find what feels right for you dont just believe everything the bible says because the church says u will burn in hell if u dont.
"Seek and ye shall find" and " truth shall set u free" means go out there read learn research find what feels right to YOU in ur heart. God does not hold human emotions he is in fact GOD which means he is above all of that and better than humans and our silly emotions. just because someone said " the bible said it!!!" doesnt make it true!!!

How close of friend? One is told to avoid the near occasion to sin so you should not chum around with sinners. It's interesting that the word chum also means spreading offal to attract predators huh?

There is no bigger sin. It just says do not let anyone steal your crown in heaven. If you let your best friend cause you to sin with them you are at risk. You can be friends, just don't allow them to pull you away from God.

If I can't be friends with a sinner then I guess I would have to hate everyone including myself.

I have friends who are unbelievers and some have some sins that I don't care to get involved with, so I don't. I have more Christian friends and feel more comfortable with them. The problem is if you are weak in your faith and it causes you to stumble and get involved with their sin.

with whom did Jesus associate? most stories from the Bible tell us of the poor, sick, loney, and SINNERS!! and then Jesus told his followers to love each other the way he had demonstrated love. so I think we should be friendly to sinners, pray for sinners, try to help sinners. should we make them our best friends? not necessarily.
