we are running out of things to talk about and keep in mind that we are still in the process of getting to know eachother
(this is a new relationship)
so what kinds of questions should i ask??? please nothing dirty, or casual like favorite color...we already know the basics...
thank you!!

Ask him about his ideal situations for when he comes back. Like what would be his ideal holiday, his ideal Sunday, his ideal meal etc etc.

You can also ask him to tell you about childhood stories like, how he broke his arm/ got a scar/ found out about Santa, etc etc. These tend to be really sweet stories which give you real insight into his personality and background.

Also, I am quite imaginative and always ask people questions like; if you were a magazine, which one would you be? These questions are really good for finding out who people think they are, what characteristics they identify with etc.

Buy a book of conversation starters or there is a game called 'table topics' that is basically the same thing. I admit that its corny, but if you answer the questions seriously you learn SO much about each other. My boyfriends parents had the game 'table topics' in their living room and we started asking eachother questions as a joke but we really opened up and were able to talk about random things that we would NEVER talk about otherwise like "if you were to get a tattoo what would it be and where would you put it?'' "if you could speak any other language what would it be?" "what would you name your kids" (that one was funny because we had just started dating, and in any other circumstance it would be awkward) It sounds dumb but it is seriously an amazing dating tool!...My best friend even bought a book about writing an autobiography that was filled with questions to get a writer inspired and she brought it on dates to ask her bf!...Give it a try! Good luck!

Ask him what the culture is like over in Iraq. Ask him how he feels about being over there. Is he scared? Also offer him comfort sing to him or write him a poem if your into that type of thing.

Talk about your day, and little subjects can turn into long conversations. Having serious or deep conversations will bring you alot closer.
