please don't answer "I hope so" or other such mindlessness. Can I get a reasonable answer here based on facts? Thanks.

No. Attacking Iran will not achieve the objective of ending their nuclear program, it will only set it back. In addition, an attack on Iran would be short lived (not enough military power at the current moment), and be disastrous in the long run.

We are saber rattling at the moment. Nothing more.

Lol, stability to the region? Im particularly advantageous invading a rustic does no longer deliver stability. look what occurred in Iraq, they bumped off Saddam Hussein 9 years in the past and there remains no stability in Iraq, there remains bombings another day. Invading a huge united states of america like Iran would be even worse for stability. exchange has back from the interior, with some help from the exterior, an entire scale invasion would bring about many harmless Iranians dying. What if one in each of your loved ones participants became into killed in that invasion, then is that greater valuable?

the only way the US will attack Iran is if they "openly" attack us, the Pres. can only move ground forces congress declares war, if the Pres. sends troops into Iran, without congressional support he'll be doing so out of his own pocket. Also it'd be grounds for impeachment b/c the president would have made an act of war against a country without congressional support, and as of right now the congress will not back Pres. Bush and probably wont without a ALOT more proof that Iran is involved with the insurgents, so far not nearly enough evidence has supported Bush's claims.

The facts are that Iran is supplying the enemy with war materials to kill American troops. In any other situation, one warning to stop should be sufficient, and if they don't , you kick their @ss.

Now, if some dumb @ss liberal thinks that this is unreasonable, then you should go to Iran and ask them to please stop sending in people, money, munitions, and logistics in which to kill our sons and daughters. I just hope you don't get caught up in a special ops raid, or worse yet, a Dresden style bombing raid that will send Iran back into the last millineum.

Those are all the facts you will get from me, Tyrone! And, for my part, it's quite enough to start taking out Irans nuclear facility, block by block, until there's one big hole in the ground.

It's unlikely at this point. However if provoked in an agressive manner I wouldn't rule it out.

By the way to the next answerer......the Repubs are still in power....or have you forgotten Bush is a Republican? President has the power to declare war.

Still....unlikely. The weapons being supplied to the insurgents are coming from Iran, but not from the Iranian government.

Late edit for HUGH...the failed mission in 1980 was to rescue the US citizens held hostage by IRAN.......perhaps that was before you were born!!

We will have to eventually. The question is do they get a nuke first.

Iran has declared war on the US and Israel.

There is not 1 example where a communist or fascist has ever kept his word in dealing with us, yet we still try and negotiate.

The only way to defeat evil is with force. We have to win peace with violence and death of the enemy.

" I hope so " ever since they took our Embassy they have been cruising for a bruising. We have been at war with them in Iraq because they are supporting the insurgents. Iran has to be stopped to keep terrorists from controlling the oil spigot.

Yes! A need is imminent to prevent rather than deter the volatile threat Iran makes no secret with its armament against its neighbour, Israel and towards the USA...take themout before they become a menace and cost more GI lives with further delays!!!

I hope so. They are one of the largest driving forces behind world terrorism. Have you read this yet?

The truth is that we have been at war with Iran for over 20 years and we have mostly had our heads in the sand the whole time.

Yes,diplomatic responses only work if they fear our military.Right now the liberals, are making us look weak.We will have to at least do air strikes just to gain the respect back that the liberals lost for us.
