I'm not asking for mere knowledge, but I wanna know what the people of God thinks. I have come to realize that even those who go to church Sunday after Sunday really don't know why He came. They know that He came to die for sins, but we leave it there. Christ is so much more than just the man on the cross, I don't think the church realize what a "savior" really is. Let's discuss this and I'm not directing this to just christians, all walks of life can answer, but please we are all adults, so let's be decent and respectful to ourselves and to the others who will read this. I think Yahoo Answer's R&S section has seen enough disrespectful comments to last us throughout eternity.

Thanks for all the answers so far we are all on the same page with what He came to do

I was not saying that Christ ask to come here, ME, but it was very much His assignment, we all have an assignmet(purpose) and the thing I love about Christ is He show us how to walk in this world and not let the world deprive us from the purpose. Look what He tld Peter, get behind me Satan. He didn't even let His friends detour Him from His Earthly mission, can we say the same?

Jesus the Christ came for more than one reason, there were many... not only did Jesus come to save his people, but also to be with his family.... Jesus is and was always.... God

He came to ensure us that there is hope, and that everything and anything is possible with God.

well God sent Jesus to earth so that we could spend eternity with Him. we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and the payment for sin is death therefore all humans must go to hell. but God didnt want to be eternaly separated from us so he sent Jesus to pay for our sins so that we dont have to and then we can have eternal life. so all we have to do if we dont wanna go to hell is confess that He is Lord and beleive in Him. hey gwhiz, um you got yur story a little mixed up. Jesus didnt ask God to come. God sent him.
