How can you take away skin discoloration?

This may seem weird coming from a 14 year old but...

I had scars too and they went away in a little less than 4 months. (And was later voted "Best Skin" at my Junior High School) Go out to Wal Mart or something and buy some 'Vita K', Vitamin K or D pills and/or cream. Use that or 'Body Clear' creme (which is a mixture of both) and works miracles.

You shouldn't try to expose yourself to too much sunlight, but you should get a daily exposure (about 15 min.). Drink lots of water, eat lots of nuts (walnuts are best), and any kind of pure fruit juices and you can eat veggies like cucumbers, celery, fennel, chard, and romaine lettuce.

You should also find a good facial scrub or masque to remove dead skin and oils that may keep your scars from healing properly.

(I know all of this from experience and research. I had bad skin at 12 and I stopped it, MYSELF at age 13. (about 4 months ago) Your body needs certain bacteria and acids to maintain its natural state. There are many other tecniques and tricks you can do to stop acne and properly remove scars. I haven't seen a pimple since, so I'm scar free. If you need to know anymore you can email me at pink_panther_gurl_81@yahoo.com )

Hope I helped!

If you are referring to the face, there really isn't a safe treatment to remove discoloration from the face. Maybe someday there will be a cream that is safe and will erase all the discoloration from the face.

In the meantime, try Neutrogena Microdermabrasion kit for the home.
Use it once a week and you will fade away all discoloration. Avoid using fade creams and such which contain hydroquinone and similar ingredients that could potentially cause health problems (not proven but is being studied). Be sure to ALWAYS use sunscreen at all times, even on cloudy days when the hidden UV rays could damage and darken your skin. I like Neutrogena's Visibly Even moisturizer with Avobenzone - helps keep your skin radiant.

Hope this helps!

What is the discoloration from? If its age spots, or hormonal spots (birth control and pregnancy can sometimes cause sensitivity to sun exposure and cause splotches on your skin, especially the face) they have over the counter products that contain Hydroquinone, it takes a while for the splotches to fade and requires consistent application/ dedication as well as use of a strong sunscreen to prevent them from getting worse. I've used a product called Esoterica that works well for this, it can usually be found near the oil of olay type stuff. There are also products that help with discoloration from scars from acne and minor injuries such as Mederma, target and walmart make a generic version of this that works just as well, which can be found in the badaide/ antisepetic isle.

The best treatment I have ever come across for your face is AMBI Even and Clear BUT Neutrogena has a very good line of products that help with skin discolorations.
