I used to be a licensed casino dealer. I love gambling. I usually don't gamble because I can't afford it, and usually I am responsible with my money. Due to misfortune, I am now living in a state with no casinos, and have been out of work for a year and 4 months. I broke down and went to an online casino, convinced that I could get over on the casino with roulette, as I was a roulette dealer and have seen people who know how to use the outside bets. I lost $200. I would get close to winning my money back, but every time I lost it again. I kept going up and down for several hours, always hovering around a $200 loss. I am broke now, and very resentful. I am so depressed that I hate myself. How can I get my money back? Should I write a letter to Oprah, play the lottery, hang myself, etc???

You can't get your money back!
So stop begging.

I would firstly see this as a lesson learnt.
Next I would see someone about your addiction, which is what it is, even if it doesn't seem that bad now, it could get worse, and you gambled $200 you didn't have.
If someone is going to gamble they should only every gamble what they would be prepared to throw away.
Unfortunately you will never get that money back. You know that from your past experience in work.
A computer (although I've never been in an online casino) can be fixed, always letting you get near the amount you put down, tempting you to take the last step and lose it again, in the hopes that you will try just another dollar, then another, etc.
At least in a real life casino it (should) be all down to pure chance.
If you want to write to Oprah then go ahead, but bear in mind that she will have thousands of similar letters everyday, and a loss of $200, even though it's a lot to you, is sadly nothing compared to the hundreds of thousands lost by some.
Doing something about this now is the best thing you can do for yourself, in case it could get out of hand. The link below should help you find a support group in your area.
Good luck, and I'm sorry for what has happened to you.

Let me start out by saying that i live and deal poker in Las Vegas so i know all about the world of gaming and all of it's pitfall to be sure. I have lived here for over 3 years and i have never played a slot machine table game, other then poker i stay away from games like blackjack and such because the casinos have a advantage over you so you can't make money at it if you are the average person. I would say you need to go get a job and stop feeling sorry for yourself. You shouldn't be resentful that you lost because you have a choice in what you do with your money so you know the risk and you lost, that's gambling. good luck..

If you want to make extra money you HAVE TO try this out. It has worked for me, my family, and friends.
If you have a computer and the internet (and an e-mail account), that's all you need to make money at this website I found. It's completely legitimate. They are an American company, but residents from all countries are welcome.
This website is the ONLY website I've found so far that actually pays you money for doing very little work.
All you do is fill out simple surveys and sign up for websites.
All you need is a valid address where they can send your monthly cheque.
I've only been with this program for a few months, but I already know that it works. I have received numerous cheques from them totalling well over $800.
I only spend a few hours on the site a month. This means that I earned about $20/hr for doing next to nothing. This IS a legitimate website with thousands of users who are earning money as well.
The reason I'm posting this is because I have an opportunity to earn even more money. If you sign up for the site and start earning money, I earn an additional 20% of whatever you made.
So here's the link, give it a try. What do you have to lose, you don't have to put in your credit card information or anything. Here's the link....

My daughter was also born 6weeks early and was very very tiny when we brought her home. The 22nd she will be 5months but we have always fed her and then rocked her to sleep while she had her pacifier. At times she does need the bottle instead of the pacifier tho. I don't see it as a mistake since your daughter wants to be cuddled and loved on before she goes to sleep. After all before you know it shes going to be a toddler and will not want this. - jeωeℓℓчssα's мαмα *;

Don't hang yourself, don't play the lottery. I doubt Oprah will be much help. Get a legit job and attend GA meetings. There are people that will help you get back on your feet. Best of luck.

um.. you should def. not hang yourself, but start by getting a job to earn money. You smart to live in an area without cosinos, but only you can prevent yourself from going online. I suggest that you find a support group, and get out of this loop that is only going to keep repeating.

Just don't go there again. Even if you do win online, they won't pay you! A friend of mine won 800 dollars and couldn't cash out! By the time they get done charging all the FEES and take a percent, you don't get squat! So stay away from them. You'll get over it.

Please don't hang yourself... we are well aware Gamblers Anonymous as a form of recovery resolution for compulsive gamblers, but readers (especially in the United States) often miss the possibility of legally recovering their gambling losses. Come by our website to learn more about how to legally recover your gambling losses: http://recovergamblinglosses.com - you don't have to be an attorney to fight for your rights.
