Council tax is based on the amount your property is worth in the range of four or five bandwidths, you will get the payable amount from your local council offices, and no it is not true, it is one payment per house regardless of how many are in it, although you can get a discount for single occupancy I think. best bet is to ask at the council,. I was in the lowest band in the UK and mine was about £22.00 per week, so that ios what you can expect to pay, unless you are on benefits from the government in which case you will more than likely get help with it.

yes its true
every property has a band which determines how much council tax u have to pay
if u live in a property all by yourself the u are entitled to 25% discount of the usual bill
but if u have 2 or more people living in the property u lose the 25% and pay the whole amount
so it doesn't matter if there is only 2 or a dozen of u guys
u pay the full amount
source:- the council and experience with them

Single occupants get 25% discount. Your Council Tax bill is for the house, so if it says you should pay £55.00 per month that is it. You don't pay per person.

Shaftesbury already has a city council and collects a theory from the inhabitants. This theory is accumulated via the district council on behalf of city and surpassed down on your councillors. be careful what you opt for for - city and parish council precepts have not been capped via government, in concept they might ask for what they prefer. The districts and counties are already pushing non statutory facilities directly to those smaller councils to help stability their very own books. In some factors, regardless of the actuality that council tax on the Counties and districts has no longer risen, some city and parishes have raised their theory via this way of extensive share that it has affected the suited bill. the government would not intend to cap those smaller councils any time in the close to destiny. One city council in Dorset already collects a larger theory than the District council, This has been brought about via pushing accountability for costly facilities directly to city
