My girlfriend and I have gotten along well but have never reached any kind of emotional chat. Since we started dating she has always been generally reserved. Sometimes she will say affectionate things, but only through texting. I am shy too, but i go more out of my way to talk with her. She is also very busy with a job on top of school. We are in High school, by the way. What should I do to get closer to her?

this very much reminds me of the relationship I am in now. Okay so I think that your girlfriend is how I was. I think I was kind of oblivious to that fact. I didn't want to say something too forward but then he started to tell me how he felt & in return I did the same. It was like a trust thing. Try to take the first step. It may not work but you really have nothing to lose but a lot to gain out of this. I think you should go for it. oh & after I did that, he said he felt a lot closer to me & he felt good that I finally had opened up. good luck.

Start talking. Communication is very important in any kind of relationship. No communication, not much of a relationship. Broke up with my g/f of 3 three years because of lack of communication.

It doesn't really seem like you have a relationship. Be old fashion and call her on the phone and talk to her.

on one of her days off when neither one of u is busy and just spend the whole day with her chillin and talkin no distractions

maybe.. she is shy and you are her first boy friend...I understand that you want to connect with her... but... take it easy and let her take her time.. that was she will know that you took time to wait for her...
