It could be most anything from a little rebellion to the perfume she is wearing. Give him time and do not push him into liking her. I tryed that with my son and it backfired big time. Make sure though that he has good manners and is Civil to her. He will come around. Let your mother try her on ideas besides food. Maybe you could have on hand something that he really loves and she could play with him with that object, but even at that if he rejects don't get discouraged, with love and understanding he will come around. When I backed off from my son he did.

When my son was a baby-toddler he would completely freak out whenever my sister would come near him. She was often around and to tell the truth I found it really funny and still do it was only a phase and he's now 7 we still tease them both about it

It might just be a phase - some children tend to pick favourites, or prefer certain people over others. Why? Who knows? Your son will most likely grow out of it.

It's more than likely just a phase. My kids are/were both like that with pretty much all our family members, including Dad. Don't worry too much about it.

It sounds very much as though he's playing a game of "be bad to grandma so she'll give me candy". Kids are very adept at doing such things.

babies and kids are just like adults. they have people that they like and don't like. it doesn't mean she has done anything or not, there is just something that he doesn't like. it is most likely a phase and he will get over it. hope this helps. good luck.

Don't bring adult concerns down to the level of your child. When you are with the adult relatives, don't let the child control their behaviors, or your conversations.

Babies are like animals. They are able to sense evil where we blind ourselves to it.
