Doctor Frank used the Glasgow slang word when he wrote for mare years than i care to remember. Some Glasgow people say mare instead of more.

Actually that was a typo that neither I nor the spell check, which presumably assumed I was talking about a female horse, picked up. I am actually a genuine cockney, but coincidentally I did train in Glasgow.

If he's from Glasgow he'll say "MAIR" not "mare".
