Timing belt is more important than ball bearings, but you should replace them soon.

Somebody's pulling your leg, Dodge's don't have ball bearings anywhere that I can think of. However, a bad bearing is a serious problem and should be repaired immediately if not sooner.
Bearings are installed to prevent friction between moving parts and the other parts will be damaged and have to be replaced. An example would be a front wheel bearing. If allowed to go completely out, the hub would lean over far enough for the disc brake rotor to rub the caliper support, then shortly thereafter would lock up the wheel and leave you to the mercy of a tow truck.

I assume your talking about you front wheel bearings. When they do go out anything from the wheel locking up to breaking the spindle. YOU WILL BE STRANDED. Thats not the bad part. If the spindle breaks your wheel will fall off and chances are you will WRECK. Change them asap.

the ball bearings are what make the wheel spin. if they are damaged, they can become very hot and cause further damage. the tire will wobble and shake the car. this could cause alignment issues.
