You ask a valid question, but I don't think you will get any resolution.

It is interesting and sad to see how some persons will behave when hiding behind the anonymity of the computer. As an "old guy" I have occaseaionally acted irresponsibly in my youth, so I can relate, but only up to a point. It is also readily apparent these persons would be ashamed if they knew their parents, husband, wife, children, etc., learned of what they write herein. They do their loved ones a disservice and dishonor them with such behavior.

The questions and answers one sees in this forum all too often represent a triumph of flippancy over rigor. These flippant persons that post obnoxious, vitrolic items obviously have not formally studied the matters being asked for several years. Rather they enjoy mockery and proving that they really have no value to add to the answer and too much wasted time on their hands. (This is one of the reasons I moderate an advanced theology forum on the internet so I can filter out the nonsensical.)

The best solution I can recommend for you is to ignore their vapid questions or comments. It is very easy to scan past them and focus your eyes on the substantive and cogent items. If you spend enough time in this Forum the persons prone to ill manners become known quickly, enabling the ignoring of their wasted efforts even easier.

Just keep asking questions in an objective manner and you will sometimes get useful responses. I try to answer questions so structured with reasoned theolgical, philsophical, and logical responses.

Just at a guess, but I would say that a lot of people who put rude questions here do it out of a perverse sense of humor. They may figure that religious people are more likely to be shocked by those types of questions as opposed to people who routinely watch R or X rated movies and talk like there is a sewer discharging from their mouths.

It seems that there is a certain tendency among people of low moral standards to get some sort of thrill by seeking to corrupt the innocent.

Lot of idiots in the world with internet access. I can prove that too--how many questions have you seen on various topics could have been answered quite easily with a google or yahoo search? Tons, I have searched for answers and provided them in a few seconds.
Most of the rude questions from my point of view are those which tend to challenge an individual's personal right to decide about their religious beliefs themselves, those self appointed zealots who proclaim they are the speaker for their god and religion and any others are always wrong and probably should be punished if they could get away with it.

I don't know, speaking about religion or the lack of it gets people upset. I try to be kind when I answer questions even if I am answering the question from someone who is being rude in the asking. Isn't that what Jesus would do? However I am human and I have been sharp in my answers before. ;) but I never try to do it intentionally.

How about it? The lack of intriguing, in-dept questions and honest, inquiring conversations and responses really bugs me. It seems like EVERYONE, regardless of what persuasion, is a self-righteous goober that has no intention but to insult those he /she disagrees with. Now, I am a pagan/early Christianity theologian, so I have LOADS of people that I disagree with, but I can go out into the streets any day and shout insults. How many times can you get off by insulting the people you don't agree with? Take it to the next step, children. Deconstruct, educate and lead by example. Oh, and vote. And ask some awesome, intellectually stimulating kick-*** theological questions!

The two topics of conversation that will get peoples backs up the fastest are religion and politics. As human beings in general do not like to be wrong it becomes a place where you will find stronger opinions and beliefs than other categories.

People who put rude questions under the religion category are really scared of the truth. They are afraid that Christians might be correct so instead of accepting Christians they attack them.

Some of them hate God and people who believe in God, some are kids just trying to rile people for entertainment and some people just get so heated about their view that they become rude and don't really mean to. After you hang out here awhile, you get used to it. Just ignore the rude ones. There's plenty more questions to answer.

I've noticed that also. I've also noticed that it's not limited to one group, but Christian and Non-Christian alike posting rude questions. Nice witness Christians. Ghandi, who was familiar with the Scriptures, when asked about Christianity said "I probably would have become a Christian, had I never met one."
