in addition to hslda.org (home school legal defense association) may I suggest homeschooling.gomilpitas.com
they have everything from a to z about homeschooling. You can cruise around on that site to your heart's content and find answers to questions you probably didn't even know you had!
Once you have armed yourself with lots of information, sit down and have an adult conversation with your mom. (adult meaning talking rationally, and coming to the table with facts and information. leave the drama out of it)
Have on hand some phone numbers to local homeschool groups (you can get those at hslda or homeschooling a to z) so your mom can call them and talk further, as I'm sure she'll have her own questions (no matter how much info you give her, she'll have questions, it's a mom thing!)
good luck!

Homeschooling only has to cost something if you sign up with an online program that you have to pay tuition for. If you do just regular homeschooling, it will cost whatever you decide to buy.
Search online for a state or more local (county or city) homeschooling support group. They'll be able to tell you all about how homeschooling works where you live, what sort of activities are available, if there are any local businesses that sell resources for homeschoolers, etc.

Im in the 10th grade, and am taking all of my classes online through a program called Ohdela, although it is only in Ohio where I live. There are many other online schools, but you would have to look up something along the lines of 'home school online in..whatever state you live in' on google.
I have to do a minimum of five hours per day, 25 per week, and turn in all my assignments through email on my school website where I have actual teachers that grade my papers and return them to me, and communicate to me over the phone.
Ive found schooling online to be more difficult than public school because it takes alot of discipline and motivation, although its nice to get to do it in your own home and on your own schedule.

Both of these are accredited high school programs. The cost varies. You set your own pace, but you must set a goal for, like, a week, and stick to it.
