We've ruled out Jacyn.
We would like to have the nickname of Jacie, without that being the official name.
I feel so strongly to have at least the first part of her name to sound like "Jay".
I miss him so much but feel he would be very happy to have our baby daughter as his namesake.

I do like Jacyn and the nickname of Jacie. But if you've ruled that out, maybe instead of Jason you could have Jaden. You would have the "Jay" and it rhymes with Jason.

Or possibly Jacynth...? (it popped up when I hit spell check)

I think it is a wonderful idea for you to remember your brother in this fashion.

Good Luck!

Maybe he has a middle name that would work better as a girls name. Or something special connected with him that would make a nice name, like a favourite place or season, etc. It doesn't have to be the exact name, but something special that will be a tribute to your fallen brother. Best of luck.

I found it!! I think you will love it!! How about..... CHASON?? I can just HEAR this musical-sounding name that sounds just like your brother's, and you CAN call her "Chasie" (a LOT like Jacie), but again, I'd love to know his middle name to have fun with that....if it was Michael, then Michelle, Stephen then Stephanie, you get the idea.....it just popped into my head in the middle of the night and I thought it was quite a pretty name and it did remind me of windchimes....do windchimes have any significance to you? Anyway....good luck again....still curious about that middle name!!

How about Jacey or Jacee? I think that's a cute girl's name.
p.s. My brother Paul was killed in a car accident and when I wanted my first born son's middle name to be Paul, my idiot husband (now-ex) wouldn't let me.
Go for it! It's a beautiful and touching tribute!

She would go through a lot of mistaken identity times at school and afterwards, with people expecting a male. Personally, I like the idea that you would honor your brother. Still, why take the entire name, since it was HIS.................when you could name her Jase? Jase sounds pretty, girly, and people will ask how she got the name..................bringing more memory for your brother!
