I have always been interested in training dogs for search and rescue & in home helpers. Where can I go to get the info on training me to train my dogs?

There are a couple of good schools in the U.S. that teach people to train dogs. There is one Columbus Ohio called National K-9, http://www.nk9.com They focus more on SAR, and service dogs, as well police and protection. There is another one in Virginia, I can't recall the name at the moment, but they focus more closely on the police/protection part, but also teach SAR and service dog training as well.

They both have good reputations, but if you are more into SAR and service dogs, I'd go with the school in Ohio.

You can go to your local library and ask about some training books that you can borrow. Or you can go to www.ask.com and ask how to train the kind of dogs you have. I would say go to google but ive heard that people put lots of fake stuff on there so i dont want you getting the wrong training information. Also you can take them to obedience classes and they will teach you everything you need to know and will probably give you a manual or a book of some sort. good luck with training
