Considering the Press Release from Remington Arms severing ties and links with Jim Zumbo because of what he wrote in his blog (see Remington link, http://www.remington.com/library/press/2007/2007-1.asp ) and the fact that Outdoor Life also suspended his blog (see Outdoor Life blog, http://outdoorlife.blogs.com/zumbo/ ) what exactly did he blog about that ticked off Remington, Outdoor Life, and any other sponsors?

Evening Bound's Hubby...want to say I have been a long time admirer of yours on this section. Great answers you give!!

It took me awhile to pull the info out of my IE cache, but I think this is the whole text...

NOTE: The following is probably copyrighted material, taken from the website "http://outdoorlife.blogs.com/zumbo/2007/02/assault_rifles_.html "

-----------------------
As I write this, I'm hunting coyotes in southeastern Wyoming with Eddie Stevenson, PR Manager for Remington Arms, Greg Dennison, who is senior research engineer for Remington, and several writers. We're testing Remington's brand new .17 cal Spitfire bullet on coyotes.

I must be living in a vacuum. The guides on our hunt tell me that the use of AR and AK rifles have a rapidly growing following among hunters, especially prairie dog hunters. I had no clue. Only once in my life have I ever seen anyone using one of these firearms.

I call them "assault" rifles, which may upset some people. Excuse me, maybe I'm a traditionalist, but I see no place for these weapons among our hunting fraternity. I'll go so far as to call them "terrorist" rifles. They tell me that some companies are producing assault rifles that are "tackdrivers."

Sorry, folks, in my humble opinion, these things have no place in hunting. We don't need to be lumped into the group of people who terrorize the world with them, which is an obvious concern. I've always been comfortable with the statement that hunters don't use assault rifles. We've always been proud of our "sporting firearms."

This really has me concerned. As hunters, we don't need the image of walking around the woods carrying one of these weapons. To most of the public, an assault rifle is a terrifying thing. Let's divorce ourselves from them. I say game departments should ban them from the praries and woods.

I think this was the entire text...not positive as part of the web page was deleted from my cache already.

Now I'm curious. I scrolled through the TV listings and it showed Jim Zumbo hunting bear as the show slated to air. I clicked on that channel and it was a show on hunting in Africa and Zumbo wasn't on it. Maybe his show has been pulled too. I can't believe that someone in "the business" has said what he did. We have enough problems with anti-gun people. We don't need to make people that were neutral into antis. By the way, I enjoy reading your answers. They are always very informative. Never opinions, just facts. Thanks for representing hunters and shooters in a good light.

I think that movie followed quite close to the accounts of Jesus' crucifixion in the Gospels. Matthew 26:47-27:56 Mark 14:32-15:41 Luke 22:39-23:49 John 17:1-19:37

Well, here's Jim's quote from his blog for you. Understandably, it has outraged many gun folks, because you just know this quote is going to show up in some political speech or fatboy Michael Moore Mocumentary......

What itshows is he's an oldfart who thinks hunting should be done only by US made "Rem-chester-bys" in American calibers. Sad. The guys expresses his opinion and loses his job.

Seeing how its already been posted what he said..

In my opinion Zumbo should be shunned and his show dropped from the airwaves.

He is no friend of the Second Amendment - the 2nd Amendment isn't about hunting Jimbo...

"When they banned the "assault rifles", I said not a word. When they banned pistols, I said not a word. When they banned the target rifles and shotguns, I said not a word. When they banned the hunting rifles no one was left to say a word for me."

Stand up for the SECOND AMENDMENT. Not just hunting!

check outdoor lifes web site, it has the original blog where he pissed everyone off, and also his "appology" ...basically he called ak/ar-15/assult rifle owner terorists, and gave anti-gun activists some "ammo" shame on him.....
