For my son's 2nd birthday, we are having a "birthday breakfast" themed party for him and his little friends. I am looking for some cute ideas for wording on the invite including something about wearing pajamas, including slippers & maybe bringing a favorite stuffed animal. Any cute or catching wording would be great. Any other suggestions regarding food, favors, etc. would be appreciated as well. Thanks!!

What a super fun party idea!

Invitation idea - would be cute on a sunshine with a rooster!
We hope you will be our party guest
for a birthday celebration breakfast.
In your PJs and slippers you should come.
Bring a favorite stuffed friend and be ready for fun!

Food ideas:
muffins instead of cupcakes
cut up fruit
a breakfast casserole
a waffle station - an adult manning a waffle iron with a selection of toppings - sliced fruits, whipped cream
make you own pancakes - have a highly supervised griddle set up where kids (and adults) can take turns making their own pancakes
fruit smoothies, hot chocolate, juices

Favor ideas:
egg shaped silly putty, playdough and sidewalk chalks should be in the stores now
fun slippers

have a great time!

For food, try making something like a 'pancake face'. Serve a pancake to each child using fruit for the eyes, nose, mouth, ears and hair. Strawberry slices, banana slices, blueberries, grapes and raspberries are good ideas. If you want, you can also use small dollops of whipped cream for the hair. This is a cute and fun way to get kids to 1) eat and 2) enjoy the breakfast even more!

As for the invitations and 'catchy phrases' you could try adding a theme to your son's party. It would make it easier to find a catchy word phrase. For example, if your son was having a Looney Toons party you could write at the end of each invitation 'That's all, folks! Hope to see you there!' For the writing you could include
'Tweety Bird reminds you to wear your pajamas, bring your slippers and of course, bring your stuffed animals!' Anything simple to remember and fun at the same time will work fine.

Or if it's an underwater themed party, you could write 'We're going to have a BUBBLING good time!' Themes help offer more decorating ideas, a fun environment for your child and his guests, and of course, more catchy phrases!

Since the kids are only young, give a few small toys or treats at the end of the party. Don't give away too much!

Have fun!

I also think you could have some small pancakes...and spray a little whipped cream on it for the "birthday cake"....then place your 2 candles on it. I like your idea of a birthday breakfast. Have a wonderful time.
