A garder snake would be the only one without any fear at all.
A snake may not be the best pet for a three year old. Why not set up a small terrarium with a toad or something

I wouldn't suggest a snake for a 3yr old. Even if you just got a small one like a Gardner, it is still likely to bite a kid (speaking as someone who was once bitten my one). I would wait until the child was at least 7-8 before getting them a snake, this way they know the difference btwn "nice" petting and "rough" petting.

I woudn't get a snake at all, but i guess the garden snake. Even though they're more safe, it could still bite your 3 year old because they don't know how to properly handle a snake, just like a dog would bite if you don't handle properly.

None 3 years old is far too young and irresponsible for a snake. All snakes will bite even Garter snakes.

Snake? Why not try a stuffed toy, or a rubber snake. A 3yr olds motor skills may not allow him to handle a snake without harming it.

A rubber snake would be ideal. The child wouldn't get bit, and the poor snake wouldn't be abused.

Wrong catagory, but.....
All snakes will bite if they feel threatened.
Corn snakes are fairly docile. My son was 5 when we had them, and they were pretty cool.

you need to first teach the child that you can not sqeeze the snake, or jerk it around, any snake will bite if it feels threatened.
