Has anyone switched to a toddler bed at 15 months?

I also have a 15 month old child, and no way have I switched. My girl friend made this mistake just recently, trying to save space in her boys bed room. Now she can not get him to lay down for a nap. If the child wants to get up he can. In the middle of the night, it could be dangerous. Especially if you have stairs that are not gated off. Though it may sound like a good idea, your child just isn't old enough yet.

My baby is 16 months and sleeping in a toddler bed. She is doing fine, we have it in our room so we can keep an eye on her. She occasionally falls out but it is such a short fall she doesn't get hurt and often will fall back to sleep on the floor where we find her and put her back in bed. She thinks she is a big girl and really seems to like her bed.

That seems very early to me - and maybe not safe since children that age still roll around a lot while they are sleeping. Even with guards on the side of the bed, I wouldn't be comfortable with the switch that early.

i switched my daughter when she was 14 months. first couple of nights we found her on the floor all rolled up in a ball after that she got use to it and stayed in bed. she would get up alot the first couple of days but we put her back each time without talking to her to much and it worked. within a week she was fine with no major problems.

all of my kids are out of cribs and into regular sized beds at 12 months, we just use bedrails. We have never had a problem with any of them. All kids are different however, so it has to be what works for your child.

Yes, I did with my son right around that time. He had a few nights of up and down (he was excited, not scared) But overall, he loved it and so did we!

yes i just did but my 16month old wants to sleep in my bed it is rough

I don't remember how old they were, it was when they got old enough to climb out of the crib.
