Well I have been to the doctor three times now and they say its allergies. I know that I do have alleregies but for the past week or so I have had this sensation of something stuck in my throat and it usually doesnt start bothering me until around lunch time. Then after it starts it gets really bad. It does burn and like I said before it feels like something is stuck in my throat. I dont have heartburn and I know that you can have this and not have heart burn. But if you do have this does the feeling last almost all day?????(when you are on no medicine) Thanks so much.. Please dont answer if you are going to say something that is way out of the way.

Sounds like your symptoms are in the family of acid reflux. People can have a form of it that isn't associated with heartburn. It's called non-ulcerative dyspepsia or gastritis. I have it and it sounds like you do too. A nice script of Prevacid or Nexium should fix ya right up??

Sometimes you have to diagnose yourself. I mean, it's pathetic, really. On top of not feeling well, you often have to do your own leg work in terms of finding out what you have. You know your body best, so get back to that useless doc and get what you need!!

I have Gerd and Reflux. I have that sensation, but I also have heartburn and stomach pain. I'm not sure it's either of the above. Do you have sleep problems? I have sleep apnea and the Ulvia (sp) in the back of my throat cuts off my breathing. It could be related to this. However I'm not a doctor, so this is just info from my own personal experience. Go to www.webmd.com for more information. Try a google search for throat problems if that doesn't work. Hope this helps

These symptoms are not GERDS or acid reflux. I'm leaning more towards a Hiatal hernia,it would explain the "lump in the throat feeling",like pressure and then you can burp(well, belch very loudly with force). I wouldn't think allergies......our family has several different allergies and no one has the symptoms you speak of. Check out Hiatal hernias online, maybe it will be your answer. Good luck.

It doesn't sound like GERD...I have it really bad..and what happens is..when you eat....all the acids in your stomach rush up your esophagus and suffocates you. Awful taste and it burns like crazy...It really sucks to have this but what you have doesn't sound like GERD.
The doctors gave me F AMOTIDINE for it...At first they gave me 20 mg capsules and that wasn't working so the upped it to 40 mg..those really help.
