I was baptised christian when i was a baby, but later I started to like buddhism. Now I don't like it anymore, and I want to quit. But a certain person doesn't let me quit. Do you believe I have the right to decide this myself?

Yes, of course you do. If you were a Christian just pray to Jesus and come back home. He is waiting for you.

There's nobody who binds your mind... if you never believed or now disagree that:

All things are impermanent and there is no essential substance or concept that IS permanent.
All emotions ultimately bring pain and suffering and no emotion is purely pleasureable.
All phenomena are illusory and empty.
And that enlightenment is beyond concepts...

then you are not a Buddhist... if you deny this simple logic, or can't understand it, no biggie. Nobody holds a weapon to your mind and chains it. YOU have to do what works best for YOU according to your understanding and ability... nobody has the right to tell you what to believe... even the Buddha tells us to take NOTHING he says, or anyone else, at face value, but to examine it yourself "like gold". Nobody here (on my side) judges you harshly... remember... you're not inherently anything.... so you're not "bad". May you find happiness and the cause of happiness and an end to suffering and the causes of suffering.

You have absolute right to choose your religion. I believe that both Christianity and Buddhism, in the pure teachings of Christ and Buddha, are true religions.
But before taking the second step, please make proper study about what is a true religion. When you reject a true religion, you already reject all religions; and when you accept a true religion, you already accept all religions. Yes, there is more damage in taking false medicine than taking none.

Buddha said,"believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if i have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason or common sense." i'm just like you. i was raised catholic but became Buddhist. as a Buddhist you would've already known that what matters is what makes you happy? whatever makes you a good person and happy is what Buddha would want for you. namaste.

Umm, yeah. You decided not to be a Christian all by yourself, didn't you?

Just kick that certain person in the balls (or grow a pair yourself) and do what you want to do.

Yes. You definitely do. No person can hold you against your own will. If you decide to let go of Buddhism...they may be mad at you..but it's your life, your choice. I believe you should! :)

Of course you have the right! You weren't a very good Buddhist if you never learned to think for yourself....

That's the second thing GOD gives us is choice. Be your own person, just don't purposly hurt others along your way.
