We have had a dog living with us for about a year and no allergy symptoms. We have a cat for a week and i get these pore size spots, most of them redish and most of them are just skin colored spots, not red yet. I would hold the kitty in my left arm for a long time to let it sleep. The spots i think started out on my left hand, and i think i have a path of them heading up my arm some, i think it might be rash spots from heading the cat. Is this an actually physical cat allergy form. And yes i have been scratched, but i don't think that is the cause of it. I think its from holding it for so long. I don't have any spots on my right hand since i really only use that hand to pet it. The cat was a gift to my nephew from his gf and its suppose to had gone back a few days ago because my mom doesn't want a cat in the house. Is there some medicine to take for this or lotion of the cat ends up staying. We use to have cats, but i never got allergies, because i never held them, i only petted them

I get those when I'm around cats. Take some benedryl. After being around the cat for a while, you'll get over your allergy.

You're most likely not allergic to the fur, per se...but to the cat saliva. They clean themselves, you touch them...you break out. You might try Benadryl. Some people develop allergies, but to be sure...it may be a good idea to get tested. It may be something entirely different...like, maybe the cat has been flea dipped, or flea powdered and you're allergic to that.

i be attentive to lots of people who're allergic and/or have hypersensitive reactions, yet that does no longer discourage them from having cats. a number of of persons in basic terms use that as an excuse reason they do in comparison to cats or do in basic terms no longer % one. i income on an air purifier and take meds and have no difficulty with cats. i'm in rescue and characteristic many in my living domicile. as extraordinary some individuals are waiting to construct up an immunity and gets over the hypersensitive reactions if uncovered to cats long sufficient.

try over the counter meds first. like claritin or benadril.
if these don't work see a allergist. he/she can prescribe desensitizing shots. your regular m.d. can also prescribe zyrtec
allergies can occur over night.
