Do you get married 5 times and divorce each other in 3 weeks too? (KIDDING....no offense intended-- I was mocking the celebs, not you :D)

But I suppose it's like that everywhere, no?

Good point strangelove... It is quite the shame that Christians have higher divorce rate... Then again, 80% of America claims to be Christian. A true Christian doesn't divorce for a stupid reason. It's hard to create a label like that.

Actually born-agains have the highest divorce rate. Atheists the lowest. :)

If I'm like a celebrity, where's my $200,000 car?

(Never married, no kids)

I haven't seen any statistics yet to support a claim like that; I would think that the divorce rates are more "evenly distributed," but I could be wrong.

Actually, I think there's just a lot of spiritual dick-swinging going on from both camps - believers and non-believers.

Simmer down, have a drink, get a hold of yourself and chill out a bit.

Oh-oh; supper's on. Later...

I like how the atheists show the percentage rate of divorce at you, and how many atheists are out there? Alot less than christians, so yeah it probably is going to be the lowest, also Doug I agree wtih you on that 80% of Americans "claim" to be Christian.

Remember that we are only in virtual reality here--not everyone and everything is what it seems. People can say anything they want to--no one knows (and most don't even care) if it's true or not.

The people who claim to be atheists, and may be, are a breath of fresh air to kids who don't like to wake up and be forced to go to church on Sunday.

Additionally, some of those holier-than-thou Christians, may or may not be what they seem. There are a lot of religious hypocrites.

What I'm trying to say, is that people just like to rile other people up--not that that's what everyone on here is doing--but be sure that some are.

Some of them are quite colorful. But the slur on people's personal lives is beneath you. Don't be bitter. I know how you feel; you sound like you've been offended, and I've been there too. But keep the moral high ground. Let them be the ones to sling insults; a Christian should have more class.

My seventh anniversary to my one and only husband is coming up. And yes this is a jab at us in spite of your pathetic attempt to dodge the responsibility, and makes you look like a jerk.

And if you trouble yourself to look up the statistics you'll see that Christians have a slightly higher rate of divorce than others, and the fundies are the worst. Guess it's hard to put up with them.

Heck no. Why would I marry and divorce that often? Do you know how COSTLY that would become?

But to be serious for a moment, no, I'm not like a "typical" celebrity in ANY respect.

Never been married. I know I put a lot of thought into who I want to spend time with, that's for sure. But I don't have all those sexual hang-ups that religious people tend to have, either. So I'd say my life is probably more fun.

Funny, Christian fundamentlists have the highest divorce/remarriage rate in the U.S... On wife number three or four they still don't read the admonitions of jesus who called the adulterers for doing it.
