There are many reasons that people believe absurd religious myth and superstition. Jesus and Christianity however is just the current fad. Jesus will eventually go away just like Zeus has.

Your poorly worded, leading question is wrong in itself. However, I will try to answer it anyway just in case your are really looking for an answer. If you and others are not really looking for an answer, go back to watching TV.
There are other historical references to Jesus even those that saw him as a rebellious Jew such as the Jewish historian Josephus. So we can get evidences outside of the Bible that Jesus was a real person.
Most of the New Testament was written by EYE WITNESSES. The last of the synoptic Gospels, John, was written between 50 & 70 A.D. http://www.ibs.org/niv/studybible/john.php Probably all of the New Testament had been written by 70 A.D. when Rome destroyed Jerusalem and the Jewish culture. Remember Jesus had just died around 33 A.D.
If you believe the Bible is God's Word, you could not think that the people that wrote it would have "fuszy" (sic) memories because as the Apostle Paul told Timothy -- all scripture is given by the inspiration of God. There is no other book like the Bible (Old & New Testaments) -- over 40 different authors from different walks of life and in different eras all in agreement.
If you look around you and figure out that the complexities of our bodies, the eco system, the universe does not just randomly happen then the only conclusion is intelligent design. Like many others, I believe the only reasonable explanation for our Creator comes from the Bible.
Keep asking questions. Keep searching for the truth.
Think about it -- figure it out!

YOu need to find out more about the Bible. Yes it was written by men but those men all came from different places, different years, different back grounds yet all the Bible from the old to the new point to Jesus. How is that possible unless all these people were inspired by God? Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. If you really want to know for sure if the Bible is true do some real research and God will open your eyes to the truth.

Its to fulfill a need. People has this great need to be looked after and to have hope that after they die their will be a greater place to go. The church is just a business like any other business. Its there to make money. You're right man wrote the bible. Not God. The bible was someones idea. Like an invention. I guess that person came up with a pretty good idea huh?

Most scholars date the Gospel of Mark at 70 CE which is 40 years after the supposed crucifixion. Frankly, I couldn't quote verbatim what someone said to me last night. You have a point, dear. Paul's letters were written somewhere around 50 CE and he readily admits that he never knew Christ. As stories progress they get bigger and better when people tell them. Better yet, if Christ healed the sick, walked on water, changed water into wine, rose into heaven in the flesh- no historian of his day would have recorded that?

I believe in Jesus because God our Creator sent His only begotten Son into the world to redeem us from sin and be our Savior. I accept the work Jesus has done on the Cross for us.The NT was written by the Disciples while Jesus was living, it is not to difficult to read and find out, and correct your thinking on ex-post facto.Read the Gospels and you will understand better. It may help to watch some movies made , on Jesus, this being the Lenten and Easter season, they will be shown, and are very good to see again. God bless you.and I hope you will become a believer in Jesus.

I am pretty sure that If I met Jesus 30 years ago, I would remember the miracles that He had shown.. and the teachings that He had shared. the books of the bible pretty much had to be written after Christ died because that is when the disciples realized Who Jesus really was... plus, God directed them thru the Holy Spirit. The books in the bible are consistant.... and so is Jesus

The Bible was not written centuries later. Mathew, Mark, Luke and John were close friends of Jesus and there four seperate stories are from personnal experience. Paul, who wrote most of the New testiment, also new Jesus personnally.
There is No-one who disputes the existance of Christ. Some question his divinity. No one has ever come up with one shred of evidence that he did not rise from the dead but over 500 people witnessed his life after death

you need to get your facts straight. the Bible was completed in 95 A.D. and there is historical evidence to support Jesus' life and Divinity. Check roman records and cutoms, and you'll see just how accurate the Bible is.
try checking the account of king Herodeus' and the current Caeser's reign at the time, and the strange goings on from then 'til 33 A.D

There's lots of historical evidence supporting the Bible, but I believe because I have faith. Everything about it makes sense to me. I've researched and prayed and it's hard to explain, but it's the clear answer for me. Some are offended when Christians say that we know it's the truth, but I know it is. I've never experienced anything like it.
God bless

you got your facts wrong, the new testament wasn't written "centuries" after Jesus, but all within 70 years of his death, the earliest epistles are dated to within 10 years of Jesus. When Jesus ascenced to heaven, his life was spread by word of mouth, then later it was necessary that his life be recorded by the eye witness accounts, his apostles and friends of the apostles. Did you know that around 5000 Jews were converted following JEsus' resurrection, all recorded in the new testament.
