Because they produce seeds, and more can be grown. Uhhh its not like they let all the tobacco run out. And if you are wondering why they haven't gotten rid of tobacco due to the health risks involved its because it is very profitable, and the government collects taxes from the sale of cigarettes.

After the tobacco is smoked, it goes up into the clouds where faries collect all the tobacco dust and put it back into the ground. Just like when you eat corn, after you go to the bathroom, water sprites collect all the corn pieces and put them back onto the cobs and put them back on the store shelves at night. The golden hair you see wrapped up in the leaves of the corn cob is the water sprites beautiful locks that accidently get wrapped up in the cob while they are being rolled up tight.

This joke again? I thought this one had been done. ;)
There are still tobacco plants because there are still people out there who haven't been converted into smokers.

Now that is just silly. How could a plant evolve into paper wrapped tubes, sealed inside a cardboard box wrapped in cellophane (which isn't even natural)?
