Amazingly enough and not wanting to promote the store in anyway (because they have enough funds already) but the cake mix I recently made a birthday cake with is Tescos Victoria Sandwich cost 33pence per pkt and I bought two (thrifty I know) but hey it was like a shop bought cake brill - just follow the instructions to the full and hey presto lovely jubly honest! Save me a piece if you make one though (that is my only clause).

Tastiest Cake Mix:
Ingredients:
2 eggs
100g/4oz caster (soft white) sugar
100g/4oz self raising flour
100g/4oz margarine
Method:
1. Whisk the margarine and sugar together until light & creamy in texture.
2. Whisk the eggs, and mix into the mixture slowly, whisking all the time.
3. Gently fold in the flour, making sure not to knock the air out of the cake mixture.
4. Place mixture into a greased 7" cake tin or two 7" sandwich tins, and bake in moderate oven (325-350; Gas mark 3-4) 25-30 mins. in two tins, 40-45 mins. in one tin.
5. When cooked, leave to cool, and then, if only one has been made, split the cake and fill with jam and/or cream.
You can even add chocolate spread instead of jam, or take out 10g of sugar and add cocoa powder for extra yummifullness.
Or you can always buy a cheesecake mix from Greens. They do cookie mixes too.
