The Gurkhas should be entitled to British citizenship and treated as any other British soldier.
Not like those scrounging immigrants??? Erm ... aren't the Gurkhas and their families immigrants? My God - the Gurkhas must be a puzzle for our resident racists, mustn't they?

That would depend on how far that money goes in nepal is how the govenment would aguee it in order to save money. Personally i think anyone who serves out their 18 years in the british army should be fully entilted to british citizeship and the full pension afforded other retired servicemen.
The Ghurkas are reknown as being some of the bravest soilders in the british army. Its about time we treated them the way they deserve to be treated the same as any other British soilder.

ANY Gurkha should be allowed to live in the UK regardless of WHEN they retired. Their treatment at the hands of Government is absolutely DEPLORABLE with regards to pensions, etc. This mob don't think TWICE about letting asylum seekers and immigrants - legal or otherwise - into this country. But these people have fought for - and have been totally loyal to - this country for many, many years. I for one will sign your petition with pleasure. Thanks for the link.

If they are a part of our armed forces then they should receive the full pension end of. It shouldnt matter where they live or if they have turned down the chance of citizenship.
Foreign Legionnaires are offered citizenship after 5 years service. After 15 years service they are entitled to a pension which they receive regardless where they live. And its a good one.

I served with a regiment that trained with the ghurkas and know that they are wonderful people and great soldiers. They serve for GB and should have all the same pay, pension, and etc.

They should - absolutely.
My dad was in the Second World War and he always
hailed the Ghurkas as the bravest in the world. They
SHOULD receive and equal pension as our UK Service
Personnel - they deserved it!!!

yes they swore an oath of allegiance the same one as me and i also worked along side them they should get all benefits and pension and help as any other service man should. but there is not enough done to help service men or ex service men when they leave in order to help them adapt to civie street
resettlement course's are not enough especially for people with long service like myself this is not a dig and i am not out with my begging bowl, i signed up and would so agen it's just the way it is

I think that the Gurkhas deserve an equal pension -- their treatment by our 'government' is a national disgrace, but what do you expect from a bunch of dodgy politicians ?

If they pay the same tax and national insurance as other troops then yes they definately should get the same pension regardless of where they are going to spend it.

The served this country proudly just like all regular soldiers. They are as committed to their jobs as regular British soldiers. So they deserve the same recognition and rewards as a regular British soldier.
