if my wages r being garnished at work will this affect my tax refund

If they are being garnished for any Federal or State debt yes your refund will be offset to pay towards your debt, Child Support, Student Loans, State or Federal Tax Debts.
Call Financial Management Services at 1-800-304-3107 to see if there are any offsets against you

If they are being garnished for any government debt like back taxes or defaulted student loans, or for child support, then they would probably take the amount you owe out of any refund you have coming, or take the whole refund and apply it to the debt if the refund isn't enough to pay it off.
If the garnishment is for something else, then probably not.
