I am an ex Christian. The basic idea is good, the commandments are a good way to live, Jesus had some great ideas about being good to others and forgiveness, the Bible is a fascinating historical document. But the religion itself is twisted messy bureacracy and used mainly as a socio political power by spreading and reinforcing ignorance.
...the power the religion has over billions and yet it does nothing but worsen the human condition. Deeply, sadly ironic.

in a lot of ways I consider myself Post-Christian in the sense that I have studied and thought myself out of the religion of my past and am working my way into a deeper and better spirituality within a Christian context. The key is to get back to the original form as much as possible and work from that basis instead of accepting the left-brained doctine-based approach of western protestantism. Christianity is an eastern religion and is not based on the Bible...it's based on the ideas and practices handed down by the Apostles.

I am a reformed ex-Christian. Whether you believe in Jesus or not he is a really good example of what people should strive to be like.

I'm an ex-Christian. Christianity and I parted ways when I was 5. A pastor told me my new baby sister needed to be cleansed of sin at her baptism and I told him to shut up, she was perfect and special. Then I kicked him. Everything they said sounded so stupid after that.

Count me in.
The morality of actions in life should not be based on the dictates of ancient mythology.

NOT ME!
I'M AN EX-ATHEIST.
I'M A CHRISTIAN AND GLAD!
EDIT: Wow, I'm surprised at all these thumbs-down (NOT). I post that I am a Christian ex-Atheist and get lots of thumbs down. How come it was O.K. when loads of Atheists posted on the 'Who is Christian' question, calling us all 'deluded' and 'ignorant' but I'm not allowed to post on this one, simply saying that I am NOT an ex-Christian?

Me... I don't like their vision of God or the schema of the universe. And I haven't since I was very small.

I don't believe in the virgin birth or in the Trinity concept.
So wherever that puts me.
