You are either suffering from depression or some other type of illness. I would get an appointment with your family doctor and have some blood work done. There are all types of medications they can prescribe. Hope you feel better soon.

I think you know yourself that it's not normal to feel as you do, otherwise you wouldn't have asked. It looks as if you've got a low-grade depression - that usually saps people's energy and makes bed seem very attractive, plus the other things you described like not being able to summon up much enthusiasm for the future.
It's worth asking yourself whether anything's happened in your life that could have brought this on. First, you should get yourself a physical check-up because you could have anaemia or have picked up a bug (by the way, how long have you been feeling like this? because a bad 'flu can leave a nasty lingering depression). Also, it's not easy being at University if you're relatively new and away from your usual support systems; and if you've had a relationship break-up that can make things worse. Then you get to the stage where the amount of work that's piled up starts to look so daunting that you want to run and hide from it - so you get a vicious cycle building up.
Get yourself a medical check, and have a chat with the student counsellor. And if I may tell you a story: the great escapologist Houdini, who used to be tied up with ropes and buried alive or about to be dropped off a cliff or whatever, was once asked for his secret. He said: 'You test all the knots. There's always one knot that's less tightly tied than the others, and that's where you start working to undo them.' When you're stuck in a depression it can feel as if everything's conspiring to tie you up, but see if you can find your easiest knot and make a start on that ... and then (maybe with a spot of help) the rest will follow.
Take care of yourself. You were good enough to get to university and you're good enough to come through this patch. Almost everybody gets one or two at various times in their lives.

You have just described classic symptoms of depression. Many people feel the way you do. Your school should have some type of Mental Health counseling available. Make use of it. One other thing. Everybody today looks for a magic pill to cure their ills, but it's better if you can overcome your depression on your own. Try some things. Make a list of what makes you happy. Before you go to bed at night, think about the things that made you laugh or feel good during the day. When the blues hit, chase them away by doing something that you enjoy. Fight the depression and don't give in to it. My shrink tells me I'm suffering from depression and that I have good reasons for feeling depressed. I decided not to embrace those reasons (excuses) and to use willpower and love for my family and friends to assist me in overcoming my depression induced stasis. It's a struggle, but I think it's working.

well ok i can think of a few things that could be wrong if all you want to do all day is sleep.... off the top of my head they are laziness, allergies, depression, mono... i'm not a doctor or psychiatrist so i can't tell you what you have or what you are feeling... but if you really are struggling with this you should see a doctor, it could be medically or it could be just all in your head... only you could possibly know, just pray and ask God about it, pray for strength and motivation to do the things you need to... good luck with that.

This is the main symptom of depression. You feel better when you are asleep. I have the same symptoms as you and I'm on meds. for mine. In fact. I 've been on just about everything they make. I hope you can find the right drugs to help you.

yes!, but most peolpe do something about it. you need to make yourself change this habits right away! PRAY. ask god to give you the strength you need to work out the problems in your life that are causing you to have to THINK so much, and as for you not seeing the POINT in ANYTHING and EVERYTHING taking an EFFORT to do. try to find your HAPPINESS not in sleep, but in the life that you have ahead of you. SOOOOO GET UP, get moving and shout at the top of your lungs "I'M ALIVE to see another day, and make that day and the day after that count.

Agree with answer #1. It sounds just like depression, and I hope it is short-lived. You need to speak to your school counselor if possible or another professional...do NOT let this go on for longer, dear one.
