First, clean out you fridge and cupboards of all junk food. Stock up on some fresh and canned fruit. If there's no junk in the house, the only thing left to snack on is the healthy stuff. Look up recipes online for fruit deserts. Here's a fruit desert I made up on the fly: As with all food. presentation is important. If it looks good, you're more likely to try it. Raw vegetables with some dip is a great way to get a 13 y/o to eat it.

Here's a fruit desert I made up on the fly:
Cut an apple in half. Core and peel only the top 1/4 of the apple. Make a bowl of butterscotch, vanilla, or cheesecake flavored pudding. Buy the instant kind that's fat-free and sugar-free. Fill the center of the apple with some of the pudding. Pour over a little apple cider or apple juice, about 1/2 cup or so. Bake it at 350 for around 30 minutes. Sprinkle on a little cinnamon if you like. Makes 2 servings.

Make the sugar-free, fat-free chocolate pudding and cut up 2 bananas in it. Tastes fantastic!

If all else fails, don't worry. Tastes change. I hated veggies when I was 13 too. I love them now.
Good luck.

Ask him to help you make veggie pizza you can Use fruits in his favorite cereal cut into slices like banana, peaches or strawberries. If he likes peanut butter sandwiches you can add apple slices or raisins, or you can use your peanut butter as a dip, warm it in the microwave for about 30 seconds, and dip your apple slices, or any other fruit for a great snack. You can use yogurt as a dip for fresh fruits. My daughter loves banana with peanut butter. Also, ice cream topped with fruits, banana's or any type berries are the best with ice cream.
Assorted fruits with jello mixed in is another perfect way to get their fruit in. The best way to get your children to eat more fruits and veggies is when they are younger you will find that it is much easier for them to love fruits and vegetables. If you can't get your child to eat no types of fruits, and veggies, maybe they will drink it, try pouring some vegetable juice over some ice with a funny roller coaster straw and they probably will drink it right up not so much for the taste but to see it in the funny shaped straw, or try a great banana or strawberry smoothie that might be the trick , this drink will be sure to get your child drinking fruits in no time so give it a try.

Try making some vegetable casseroles--they are usually VERY tasty because they have the creamy cheese and soup sauces. After he gets used to the idea of eating broccoli casserole, maybe the concept of just brocolli and cheese won't sound so bad. Then who knows--eventually he may just decide that he likes broccoli. (or whatever vegetable you start out with)

Well i used to be the exact same way! I'm also 13 and what i did is i started eating salad with TONS of dressing on it. then slowly i reduced the quantity of dressing. Also make it clear to your son that you want him to eat vegetables but don't force him. make him just have small amounts. Also if HE came up with the idea of buying them then HE should eat them. i suggest that you strongly enforce that he eat a fair amount of the vegetables. Also don't force him to eat Brussels sprouts if he doesn't want to eat them!!!

You might need to flavor them for him--like yams covered with marshmallow, or broccoli covered with cheese sauce. Celery and carrot sticks taste good when dipped in ranch dressing.

He shouldn't mind eating fruits like grapes, they're sweet, and good to munch on. Raisins are also sweet. A banana you could cover with cool whip and chocolate syrup (banana split minus the ice cream).

usually i choose for a extensive fruit salad if I even have time. If no longer, i purchase smoothies or beverages that supply me considered one of my 5 an afternoon. Its annoying with food expenses increasing on the minute. i'm uncertain if I might desire to bypass out and purchase lots fruit and veg if it expenses to lots and that i would not get eating all of it!

Always have them available in a ready-to-eat form. If he's asking for them that means he probably wants to eat them... he just might not want to go to any effort to do so.

Try to have pre-sliced carrots, cucumber, apples, peaches, etc. (anything he likes, really) packaged up in the fridge for quick, easy snacks. Also, have them at every meal, if possible.
