Evolution strikes me as an intelligent design. Isn't it desirable to be constantly improving and evolving. Christians are encouraged to evolve in their faith. Change is a part of life. Nature hates a vacuum. At the beginning of the industrial revolution in England, there was a moth that was white. Over time its wings became black in order to blend in with the soot covered buildings. Evolution in a very short time frame. Not even the smallest of creatures escapes God's attention.

I am an atheist but I think that you are right in that there is no real contradiction between evolution and creation, if you do not take religious texts literally.
On the other hand, of course there is no god really needed for evolution, it can work smoothly without one.

But if there really is a God, why go to all the trouble of having life appear by a manner that could call into question the very existence of God? The way I see it, either God exists and we came about by special creation, or we evolved and there is no need for a god.

I choose evolution and no god.

Yeah, I'm not sure why some Christians say its impossible, its a proven law, just like gravity. It doesn't explain how humans came to be on the earth, but it explains why giraffes necks grow taller over the long term, and stuff like that.

God made everything perfect from the beginning, and it's getting worse not better. peolpe here are geting their definition confused. macro evolution, that we and monkeys came from a common ancestors, never has happened. now the evolution that mikike referred to is just a variation. that giraffe will have baby giraffes, and so on, and your always gonna get giraffes. God gave them that adaptation method with limits.

He certianly could have. its apparent that most life forms are adaptable and changing all the time. We don't know much about how he created the universe. there's only one short chapter in the bible about it.

He did create the universe. He could have used evolution to do it. He chose not to do it that way.
