Yes there is a lot of them out there. you need one that shoots at lest 1000 ftps.Look at Cabelas on line site. I do agree though why not buy a 22 cal rifle. The problem with a pellet gun is you don't get the range that you do with a 22 rifle. I use my pellet gun for shooting squire ls around the house, at 30 to 40 yards. But don't know of any pellet gun that is accurate much beyond that. Definitely not at 75 yards which i get a lot of shoots at that range in the woods.

When I was a kid more than 25 years ago, I had a pellet gun, (a good one by the standards of the time), that I shot many squirrels and a few ruffed grouse in the head with. It's hard though, you had better shoot them just right, or you're gonna wound them. Good luck..
ADDED: By the way GoodGuy, in case you stop back to read answers, the vast majority of us on this forum who talk about shooting squirrels,,,,,, EAT THEM!! Believe it or not, most of us respect and value the lives of the animals we hunt. We simply are able to accept our natural slot in the food chain. Go get a Starbucks, and go grocery shopping where you can buy some of that meat that isn't made from animals.

Being as powerful as .22 rimfires, Modern precharged pnumatic rifles,as well as "magnum" break barrel airguns in .20 and .22 caliber are perfectly capible of taking small game at reasonable ranges.
New larger-caliber 9mm, ,45, and .50 cal. precharged pnumatics such as those manufactured by Sumatra have been used successfully to take larger game as well.
Check out these heavy-caliber-pounders at:
www.pyramydair.com
Make sure and check local wildlife regulations to see that hunting with an airgun is allowed in your state, and obtain a hunting liscense first!
Good hunting!

by pellet, i assume you mean an air rifle. small varmits at close range - squirrels, etc.
if you mean a REAL rifle with .17 or .22 caliber you could shoot even up to racoons and at a greater distance.

It can kill game birds ,such as Grouse, spruce hen`s as we call them in nortern Alberta, with a well placed shot to the head. But they are not usually legal to hunt with in most parts of the country that i know of.The smallest calibre we can use is a 410 shotgun.

Only squirrels and small birds. Don't hunt for things you can't eat. That's just a waste, and cruel. If your going to hunt, at least be able to serve it at the dinner table to make it's life worth something in the long run. Can you tell I don't hunt?
