Both Great Value and Peter Pan peanut butters starting with the 2111 number have been recalled due to salmonella being found in some of it. They are recalling the ENTIRE batch, so some may or may not be contaminated. All stores that sell peanut butter are giving money back for it if you just take it to them. They send it to ConAgri, and they get their money back. If anybody has gotten sick (I hope you've stopped using it by now...) contact a doctor. The symptoms of Salmonella Poisoning is diarrhea, (sometimes) vomiting, fever, general sickness, and dehydration in the young and elderly. Most people can get over and get rid of the bacteria naturally. Drick plenty of fluids like juices, gatorade, and water to replace water and electrolytes. If it gets worse, contact a doctor for antibiotics or something. If the person sick is young or elderly, they should probably go see a doctor.

I had the peanut butter at my house, too; I think Peter Pan is saying that if you send them the lid they'll send you a voucher in return. I know that my grocery store, Publix, is just handing out refunds for any jars you bring in. I'd take your kids to the doctor on the sickness thing; salmonells usually clears up on its own after a few days, but it's always better to be on the safe side.
Good luck! : )

Symptoms of foodborne illness caused by Salmonella include fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramps. In persons with poor underlying health or weakened immune systems, Salmonella can invade the bloodstream and cause life-threatening infections. Individuals who have recently eaten Peter Pan and Great Value brand peanut butter beginning with product code 2111 and have experienced any of these symptoms should contact their doctor or health care provider immediately. Any such illnesses should be reported to state or local health authorities.

Most symptoms usually occurs within 6 to 72 hours after the ingestion of the bacteria. There is no real cure for a Salmonella infection, except treatment of the symptoms. For most strains of Salmonella, the fatality rate is less than one percent.
Salmonella infections usually resolve in five to seven days, and many times require no treatment, unless the patient becomes severely dehydrated or the infection spreads from the intestines. Persons with severe diarrhea may require rehydration. Treatment with antibiotics is not usually necessary, unless the infection spreads from the intestines, in which case the infection can be treated with ampicillin.
Some Symtoms Include:
-Diarrhea
-Stomach pain
-Nausea and vomiting
-Fever
-Headache

Yes, bring your family to the doctor. We had bad peanut butter too. We thankfully hadn't eaten it yet. You also should call up the peanut butter company and tell them that you ate it. You may be rendorced or given something. Good luck =]

go to the doctor. are you kidding? Where do you live? are you uneducated? You know if you hear a report about something being bad and making people ill you should take necessary precautions with doctors visits if your family has been exposed to the same thing.
