Since it doesn't seem like anyone's going to give you an answer based on anything but heresay and media-misinformation....I'll shed some legitimate historical info for you :

Yes, Ninja of Togakure-ryū Ninpō (戸隠流忍法
Iga province) did focus on the active applications of firearms and handheld mortar.

These applications are within the 18 disciplines of Togakure Ryu - Kayakujutsu (fire and explosives).
Nage-deppo and flintlock firearms (an example of which are the rifles brought to Japan from the Phillipines) were used. If they could be used to get the job done, why not use them?

It's no different than now, we train with modern firearm weaponry over a match or flintlock type.

Technology may change, but principles of usage do not.

So, to answer your question...the answer is yes.

I think it's easy to speculate to what "Ninja's" actually did or didn't do. What LITTLE we do know about them is that they were killer for higher kinds of guys. Now were some of them even Samauri by day and Ninja at night? Ya... there were more than a few moon lighters.

However most of what they did was pretty stealthy seeing as they didn't work in large groups. Being caught meant death. I would think that they would have shy'd away from explosive weapons due to the noise... plus they were plenty deadly at what they did already.

Yes, at the Matsumoto castle museum there is an extensive collection of Tokugawa-era firearms. Some of the guns included there are specifically designed for concealment inside an obi, etc.

A weapon is a weapon. Note that the Kayakujutsu is part of the principles of ninjutsu. Ninjas trained with firearms to fight off extremely well armored soldiers only if necessary.

Ninjas were basically peasant farmers not professional soldiers or wealthy noblemen like Samurais. They used whatever it was they could find or make. They were also all about surviving. If they could find a gun I'm sure they would use it.

I even have purely shot a gun as quickly as and it replaced into form of ironic. My husband's kinfolk took us to Texas to bypass to their kinfolk and that they are gun human beings. They have been out taking photos all sorts of weapons. my spouse's father loaded a 22 hand gun and surpassed it to me to take a shot. I shot a million bullet and that replaced into it. Too weird and wonderful for me simply by fact whilst my Dad replaced into 2 a million/2 years previous he replaced into shot factor sparkling selection via a 22 hand guna nd lost his left eye and maximum use of his staggering leg and arm.
