Get a sprinkler system and time it or put it on manual when you see the dog or expect it to come over. Water is safe but it might discourage using your yard. It can be expensive but is well worth the money....
Does your neighbor have the dog on a leash when it goes in your yard? That would be even more hilarious!

There are laws in almost all municipalities that regulate against dogs making messes in public areas if the owner does not clean them up immediately.
My father had a similar problem with a neighbor's dalmatian. Even after talking to the person, they would always stop with their dog and let it crap on the lawn. My father collected the feces and applied it to their front door. The problem went away.

you can lay a radio fence and ask the owner to let the dog where the collar, it will keep him out of the radio area, the also have wireless ones that you just need a receiver collar and the unit no wires, they are pricey though
also i might politley ask that the neighbor be more careful then try to catch the dog on film pooping as many times as you can then be prepared to follow the proper channels

You really need to speak to the neighbor about this if it is a big problem. Otherwise it will continue. Please don't do any thing to harm the dog, as it is really not his fault. It is the neighbor's fault for allowing the dog to do this. You can't blame the dog, as he has probably not been taught any better . Good luck.

Go to the dollar store and purchase several cans of black pepper. Sprinkle the pepper all over the areas that he likes to dump on. Dogs sniff when they are looking for the "right" place to poop. A couple of times of sniffing pepper will deter him. The bitter apple suggestion was good also.

Talk to your neighbor about it. Tell him you will have to call Animal Control unless he keeps his dog on a leash. It is illegal for dogs to roam around without a leash.

All these are good answers...the final one I have....after trying all others....a bb gun....pup in like one time and shoot the pup in the butt...I am going to get a lot of thumbs down for this but....if you only pump it up like once or twice in will not be enought to break the skin, but will be enough to get the dog to leave....several times of this he won't come back.

First, you make one written request: "Please keep your dog from leaving feces in my yard."
Second, complain to the authorities.
Third, and if all else fails...take some sponges, cut them up into bite size chunks, and soak them in bacon grease. Leave them in a bowl in your yard. Dogs love these. They will stop up his little doggy digestive system so thoroughly as to require expensive surgical intervention.

collect a sling shot and take aim at either the dog or the owner(owner preferred). or take a collection of video and pictures and then take it to the owner and tell them to pickup their after their dog. or collect all the poop and when you get a big enough pile dump it on their lawn.
