It could have bin a dragon just another one of the Christin fairy tails. More likely a giant dragon fly. It might surprise Christians that man came on the scene not six thousand but more likely six million years ago. That is undeniable fact not theory. So why don't you people adjust your bible a little to fit the facts? Admit some of it had to be symbolic so the uneducated minds who wrote and those it was written far at the time it was written could understand it's basic concept?

No, the earth is less than 10,000 years old. if you want to believe the 'billions of years' bologna, that's fine, but you're wrong.

Chinese history shows carvings of dragons in artwork. European prints show dinosaur like creatures as late as the 1500's. Loch Ness arguably has something in it. Tribes in rain forest Africa relate stories of a large dinosaur like beast. North American native tribes have recent stories of giant flying creatures and a large creature called "the father of the buffalo". British history is full of stories of dragons.

In the early 1940's fishermen off the east coast of Canada caught an unidentifiable beast - looked much like a reconstruction of ocean dwelling dinosaurs. Japanese fishermen hooked a carcass of something similar in the 1980's.

It's evolution theory that dictates the demise of dinosaurs 65 million years ago. (Dinosaur - a word invented about 150 years ago.)

How long has man been here - do some simple math - I can get the formula if you want - and see how many people would be around if we'd been here 6 million years. Compare to the population if we were here 5000 years.... guess which one comes out closest....

We don't need to adjust the Bible to fit the facts, the facts fit now.

While the word "dinosaur" is a relatively new word, there seems to be evidence in many places around the world that men and these creatures have co-existed. In the Bible, when God is responding to Job, in Job 40 and 41, we see two creatures described, the 'behemoth' and the 'leviathan.' Both are described as extremely large animals and seem reminiscent of descriptions of a dinosaur and a giant sea creature. Although Bible notes in many modern translations suggest these animals might be a hippo, a crocodile, an elephant, or other known animals, the Biblical descriptions defy those identifications.

It is not an "undeniable fact". No one was there to observe it. Scientists interpret data based on a presupposition. All scientists. Secular scientists start with the presuppostion that the earth is bilions of years old, and young earth creationists start with the presupposition that the earth is only 6000 years old. The Creationsist model fits both the Bible and the world we see quite nicely. Trying to "adjust your bible a little to fit the facts" doesn't work, and in fact only causes more problems. Maybe because the "facts" aren't facts after all.

Well, you know - the pope was able to change the definition of hell to a mental state of existence. And I'm pretty sure the Catholics also got rid of purgatory and finally admitted Copernicus was right. So I think if any denomination finally comes around to thinking rationally, it will likely be the Catholics. But the fundies may never come around. They want to interperate their bible literally. The Christians who view the bible as a collection of stories meant to teach moral lessons will also likely come around if they haven't already. Luckily, not all Christians believe the earth is only 6000 years old or whatever. Some believe in evolution and that God simply mixed it all together and sat back, allowing the formation of the universe, earth, and life to develop via science. I mean - after all - if He's God, he should know all about chemistry, physics, etc... right?

I think Leviathan is actually a sea serpent. But I haven't read the Bible so I don't know what Leviathan is in the Bible. And Leviathan's element is water. If you search Daemonolatry or Demonology then you will probably find more information on Leviathan.

I read an article two weeks ago stating Giant Lions Existed 6000 years ago along with other Giant animals. Written by Atheist. Now this is where most people would say something condescending about your education.

Ha Ha ha Ha thats a good one! So I take it that you believe everything that you read, and believe everything that people tell you even to the point that the moon is made of cheese!

What undenial proof do you have to bolster your silly claims?

What proof do you have that scientist have proven the universe is six to ten billion years old you dont have it, so quit being such a fool.

Where is your proof you have none, nor will you ever have any.

Actually, I think that the leviathan is a dragon, not a dinosaur. the description in the bible is more accurate to a dragon than it is to a dinosaur.

I don't adjust my bible tho... i can only adjust me... God is God and any conforming must be on my part to be more of what He wants than what I want

Let me guess: you are Pokey the Angry Banana reincarnated because Y!A suspended your account? It would work much better with a new picture. :-D

BTW, Leviathan was a salt water crocodile and Behemoth was a Hippopotamus. And yes, you are correct: much of the Bible is symbolic, but not all of it. Reading the surrounding context will usually help you to figure it out.

Actually, according to one Hebrew scholar, the leviathan was (1) a serpent of a larger kind, (2) a crocodile, or (3) any very large aquatic creature.
