Do you think that Al Gore is smart, or just crazy? The movie and Inconvient Truth struck me as a political and concerning movie. What do you think?

Al is a Nut JOB. Global warming is at the fore front because politicians found how to use a new platform to get re-elected. The world leadersuse it because they found ways to make money at it. This is a made up problem just like Global Cooling in the 1970's. Wake up people. I agree we need to be more efficient with our resources, and we should fine and jail companies who are dumping into our rivers maliciously. I want to stop the raiforest destruction, but to say that global warming is a serious man made issue and we need to destroy the American economy and bow down to the rest of the world certainly does not float my boat. Follow the money on this one and you will see that it is all for political gain and grant money for those scientists who profit off of the government if global warming stays at the front of the issues. Look deep into the Keoto (sp?) Treaty, first of all they took jets to a non-central resort location. Not very environmentally concious. THen in the parameters of the treaty they have a clause that makes it so you can buy or sell polution credits. This is all about shifting wealth and breaking down the United States. This is painfully obvious, just look at peoples agenda. The earth's mean temperature has risen .6 degrees C in the past 125 years. Greenland's icecaps have gotten colder in the past 10 years. The Scientists who do not gain anything on their posisition will tell you that the earth has a natural progression and this is what we are seeing. The UN report is made up of POLITICIANS not a good spread of scientists. THere are as many or more scientists who believe that man in NOT the reason and it is over hyped, but their voice is not heard in the LIberal Mainstream Media. This issue is 99% political, and an attempt to make the USA a socialist nation, and eventually communisim. WAKE UP AMERICA, IT IS TIME TO BE AMERICANS. FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE. STOP THE LIES

I would say not smart - but savvy! He is making a profit - whether it be cash or influence. I know I've been shown his bank book! Just kiddin'!! He has simply found a way to get on-board the media scare tactic created by Madison Ave.

The truth of it is that scientists from all over the USA and Europe say weather will happen and there is nothing we can do about it. On the other hand other scientist in the very same locales even the same schools! say we CAN do something about it and should.

I agree with Larry J, why is no one talking about HARP? It does operate in the atmosphere and has done so for more than just a few years. The military generally, and the air force specifically, admitted the fact some years back and said they were only monitoring weather patterns. OK, seems innocent enough. Unless you wonder "why" they want to do that. Everybody knows you can talk about the weather but you can't do anything about it, anyway!? Well at least that's what the songs say. So, who knows how to reliably monitor it's operational effects? Who even knows how these effects are created?? The USAF is not talking!! But we should all believe them... anyway. After all, nobody can do anything about the weather, anyway.

I don't think you can take a stance on his intelligence. He is advertising research done by other people. He has not taken part in the research in any way, he is just a recognizable face that is being used to push the global warming trend. 30 years ago scientists were pushing the idea that the Earth was entering a new Ice Age, now today it is global warming. It is good that money and ideas are being concentrated on the environment, but there is conflicting stories on whether or not it is happening. Until a consensus in made, there will continue to be turmoil surrounding the topic.

Al Gore is freaking brilliant !!
And, to the first poster
half of the scientist say one thing the other half say something else--- hell, a good deal of the time THEY don't even agree with themselves !!
You can rationalize the "sun cycles" and all that other stuff until your blue in the face---and none of it will hold up to the simple fact that the polar ice caps ARE melting---and humans have a major part in the fact that that is happening---hell--- the mention of the cattle thing here---- the very reason that there are as many cattle in the world as there are--- is because of MAN !!!

Oh, and there's a little thing called the HHARP system that not many people know about that is another of the little "under the radar" programs that the government is running somewhat covertly that is adding to this problem like big time and that is one MAJOR reason that the Federal Government refuses to take a stand on this issue--- any stand on the point will mean that they have to account for what the hell they're doing in THAT program-- and they ain't anywhere near wanting to come clean on THAT one !!!

Gore is smart, Kat is crazy. Kat says that "most scientists know global warming is a myth." How does Kat know this? S/He presents no data to support that statement. In reality, the only debates in scientific circles are not whether Global Warming is a fact, but rather what specific effects we will see within specific time-frames.

Kat contends that the Sun controls earth's climate and that climate change occurs about ever 1200 years. Ok, partly right but mostly wrong. Since the early 1900's the biggest influence on climate is man. Think about it, the exhaust generated by Henry Ford when he started up his first Model T, is still in the atmosphere today.

As to Gore's racing around in private jets, deplorable, but I'm willing to wager that if Kat had the opportunity that would be his/her preferred mode of travel, too.

Crazy, the book/movie was based on lies. Most scientists know that global warming is a myth, based on the simple fact that our weather is controlled by the sun, which has a 1200 year cycle, while we've only been tracking weather for 100 years. The difference is the only people who get interviewed are those who believe what mainstream media want to promote.

20 years ago, time magazine was telling us all that we were entering an ice age of previously undemonstrated proportions. Now we're all gonna burn to death? ...

And do you really want to listen to someone who preaches saving the earth, but then will only fly on private jets - which pollute more in a single trip than most americans do in an entire year? For the record, cows pollute more than every human on earth does, yet no one is advocating the destruction of cows.

To the other posters - you can go back through time magazine's archives (all of which are free) and read the articles from the 50s that discuss how the freezing and melting of polar ice caps is a normal reaction to prevent them from getting too large or too small. We're experiencing the same weather cycle from the 50s.

If you want to read about scientists & their thoughts, you can check out the Colorado weather center (run by NOAA) which employs a brilliant climatologist who has been accurately predicting weather cycles for something like 30 years. He's the first to tell you we're going through a normal fluctuation, and he's the most respected professional in the field.

And I'd rather not travel on a private jet - I don't have entitlement issues. But thanks for the personal attack because I don't believe a group of liars who wish to emulate chicken little.

Just Crazy. The CO2 problem has been taken care of by the plants and photosynthesis.
The Methane myth is just that where did all that methane go because it is not in a large lake in our upper atmosphere or u would of heard it the first missile we launched through it. Where did it all go????
