The Doberman's life expectancy is generally 13 years. BUT -- much of that relates back to GOOD breeding -- something few breeders in it for the money or the ribbons REALLY care about.

I've had 5 Dobes. My first I lost at age 10 due to cancer. My second lived to be 14 and finally had to go to the Rainbow Bridge due to Wobbler Syndrome. My third lived to be 6.5 years of age and was lost when the surgery we undertook to repair her ruptured ACL went horribly wrong. The two I currently have are 7 and 2. I hold great hopes that they too will be with me as long as my 14 year old girl was.

But -- regardless -- I've loved them all the same and with every inch of my soul.

the quality of his diet and exercise will help determine whether he lives 10 years or 15 years. I used to breed Dobermans, and they do so much better on a diet with no corn, soy or beet pulp.
