Hi. Same problem here. Blowdry it, even before you straighten it. That way, it will have a nice healthy shine and a good texture. :]

Try using Garnier Curl Construct mousse. It's inexpensive and easy to use, plus it'll help eliminate the frizz.

If you'd like to go for a more polished look, here's a suggestion:

1. Apply the mousse as usual.
2. Attach a diffuser to you're hairdryer and adjust the setting to "low."
3. Flip your head over and use the hairdryer to dry the underside of your hair, while you're scrunching your hair with your hands.
4. After most of the moisture is gone from the underside, flip your head back over and dry the top part of your hair (not completely or it might frizz).
5. Once your done with the hairdryer apply Teresemme shine spray all over (holding it 1 to 2 in. from your hair).
6. Polish the look with Teremesse Tres Deux hairspray all over.

I've been fighting my wavy hair all my life and I have finally surrendered.

Ask your mom to buy you a hair dryer and a round brush. Part your hair in sections and dry one section at a time. The smaller the section of hair, the straighter you can make it.

You might also try a curling iron to control the waves.

We're lucky our hair never looks flat.
