notice "tales" at the end?
[25] And of them there are some who listen to you; but We have set veils on their hearts, so they understand it not, and deafness in their ears; and even if they see every one of the Ayât (evidences, verses, lessons, signs,. etc.) they will not believe therein; to the point that when they come to you to argue with you, the disbelievers say: "These are nothing but tales of the men of old."
Quran 6:25
brothers & sisters of Adam, that's what happend to you,1st God showed you the truth , and you reject him. Then he blocked ur eyes, ears and heart. that's why you don't understand why others believe in God and you don't. peace

No god has shown anybody any truths. It is all just superstition.

If Ayât can be variously translated as verses, lessons, signs, etc AND evidence you've got no chance. Evidence we like. A verse is just a verse though. They are never the same. That's why there is no god.

This is no different than the Bible passage that says "The fool says in his heart There is no God." It is a terribly clever way of explaining to believers why not everyone thinks as they do--the holy book said it would happen! It's like a prophecy!
Yeah, or common sense. For every fantastical idea there is someone who refuses to fall for it.

It seems to me this was an addition to explain why there are disbelievers. Every religion has its critics. I'm sure this was just as true when this was written as it is now. This, however, still does not prove God to the non-believer.

The place of the hero figured many times in Campbell's comparative study. In 1949 The Hero with one thousand Faces presented his theory of the monomyth (borrowed from James Joyce), which defined most of the archetypal varieties Campbell known. Heroes have been significant to Campbell because of the fact, to him, they conveyed nicely-known truths approximately one's own self-discovery and self-transcendence, one's place in society, and the relationship between the two. No it's more to do with the fact that when they decided on the content of the bible to optimize the number of people who will do what they tell them, they new god wasn't real and that there was no evidence for him, so they had to make the bible look like it had an explanation but it is in fact common sense if you are writing a book pureley designed for control. I believe in Him! I also believe that He created us, the world, and you even if you don't believe. I'm glad He created us because then I wouldn't be able to tell you how crazy you are!
ps:He didn't block my heart(He came into it), He didn't block my ears(I can still hear His word), and He didn't block my eyes(I can still see all of the amazing things He created)!!!

why isn't it enough that this your truth? why do insist on making it their personal truth too?
it's just sad, it makes it seem like you're the one who doesn't see it as real, why else would you need to prove it so badly?
does your faith not teach that all people have to find their own spiritual path? i thought somebody told me that was a muslim thing too.
edit: it probably is, and you just don't get it.

cool. whoever wrote it covered his bases.
amazing...
i think you dont give enough credit for people back then. they were a lot smarter then you think. aristotle, and all the other famous philosiphers and mathematicians of that time...
if i wrote a book and said, "many will not believe, they will call you a fool, but they are the fool" and "i have have blinded them so they may not see as you do" does that make my book true?
cmon seriously. that is a lame argument.
