Depends... is the dog being aggressive as it does this? Growling and barring teeth.
My sister's dog gets so excited when we get home that she will grab our hands with her teeth. It's friendly and a way of saying, "I miss you!!" Sometimes she gets carried away, though...
If its a problem carry a toy with you and tell her, "No" then say toy as you put the toy into its mouth. It turn it will probably play fetch, or something like that with you.

Sometimes, especially if you try to take something that is 'his,' or irritate him by pulling ears, tail, etc. There's a difference between a warning nip and a bite -- all dogs will nip if provoked enough, but the dog's owner should assert his/her dominance by not allowing this. And all dogs should be taught not to ever bite, no matter what the provocation.

They shouldn't because that usually means they are afraid unless it is a playful nip. If it happens when you are playing with your dog, then I would say yes they nip the ones they love. If this is happening at random or when the dog is cornered or something like that then I might be a little worried.

You have to decide if the pet is niping as in trying to bite or just trying to play. Either way, make sure you get it under control while they are young or you will have a massive problem when your pet grows up and bites kids, visitors, etc. Do not allow your pet to growl at you. Make sure you are the master in every circumstance.

Sometimes it depends on the breed. But in any case this is definitely one of those behaviors that's in the category of, "Kind of cute when a puppy, very annoying when an adult." You'd want to stop that behavior asap so that the dog understands : no teeth on human skin.
