Joan Miro became a prominent member of the Surrealist Movement,he worked with Max Ernst on the creation of the decor for Diaghilev 's ballet " Romeo and Juliet"also executed a wide range of lithographs, etchings and ceramics. The painting "Woman and Birds" is considered to be a most important of all his work its a portrayal of weird hallucinatory beings which seems to spring from a subconscious dream, a world typical of the surrealist movement.
