You should continue to take your blood pressure medication until you are told otherwise by your primary care physician (PCP).

Stopping your blood pressure medication could put you at increased risk for heart attack, stroke, kidney disease, and other serious conditions.

If a doctor other then your PCP perscribed the Xanax, you should notify them as well as checking with your pharmacy for medication interactions.

According to the NIH tranquilizers, like Xanax, have no effect on your blood pressure. So do not stop taking your blood pressure medication.
