How is this proof? If indeed this was a proof of God, then you have another fallacy--needing faith to enter the kingdom of heaven.

If there is a "proof" that God exists--then the whole system is flawed. Faith is required.

Hi Jason,

I hope you have taken geometry. If so, you will remember how you prove two triangles are congruent. You prove two sides and an angle, or two angles and a side. Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist and Agnostic students all use the same theorems to prove triangles are congruent. If you give them the same problem they will all give you the same answer, unless they forgot to read their text. (If you haven't taken geometry yet, ask an older brother or your parents.)

Civil engineers in Australia, Bolivia, China, Pakistan and India all use the same math to decide how thick a bridge support has to be for a given volume of traffic, even though they may be Protestant, Catholic, Buddhist, Muslim or Hindu. If you tell them how heavy a load, how wide the river and what materials to use, you'll get remarkably similar answers.

Ask those math students or those engineers about the nature of God and you'll get different answers.

If one could prove the nature of God as easily as one can prove two triangles are congruent, someone would have done so 3,000 years ago, when Euclid was inventing Geometry, and there would be one religion today. There are eight or nine major ones, depending on how you feel about the Bahais, and a couple of hundred others.

Your religion works for you, and I'm sure if you were ever in a situation where you knew you were going to die, or were faced with a temptation to do something evil in return for a moment of intense pleasure, it would be a great help to you.

Other people's religions work for them. If you want people to respect your opinion, you have to respect theirs. If you assume you are right and they are wrong on a matter that they have thought about for a long time - socialism vs. capitalism, Christianity vs. another religion, the ethics of suicide, the pain of abortion - you just annoy people.

Wow.

Your logic skills are so finely tuned.

I made bread this morning, there must be a god.

Wow.

So, let me get this straight. You have insulated yourself from logic with this kind of reasoning. You do not have to see proof of anything, you just flat out believe it.

Ok, try this one on for size.

A guy shows up with his tag along army of biographers. This guy says he is the second coming. He wants you to follow him and help spread the word that he is back. Now, he does not do anything to show you he is the second coming, he just says he is. His biographers all step forward and tell you of the miracles they have witnessed, but the guy does absolutely nothing in the way of miracles except for some sleight of hand tricks like pulling a quarter out of your ear.

Would you believe this guy was Jesus? Would you want some sort of proof? What if you turned him away and then later found out it really was Jesus? There would be no proof that it was not Jesus, so you could be wrong by not believing in the guy.

A watch is clearly designed. You see the purpose of every part.

But when you look at the universe, does it show the same traits? No. What you see when you look at the universe is chaos.

Stars and planets just strewn about. Black holes here and there, with no apparent purpose for their existence. Meteors flying around... Supernovas occasionally. Barren planets. Dying stars. The universe shows absolutely no traits of being designed...

But the universe isn't a watch as a watch can't form its self but the universe following the observed and tested laws of physics can. But the question is who created the watch maker? Say no to jesus

(My religious beliefs will not be revealed here...Just thought I'd help you...)

Your argument is flawed. A watchmaker did not make the watch. If you want to make a valid argument, then God made the watch. Until you can connect the watch "directly" to God, your point cannot be made.

BTW: Stop your screaming. It just makes people want to hate. Make your point using regular sentences AND NOT CAPS!
(See what I mean?)

To those who said something about Zeus: He never made the Universe in Greek Mythology. It came out of Chaos. Which is where the Universe is from.
And that's horrible proof! I've seen things poof out of nowhere...or at least...nowhere I'm aware of, so I tried making something up to prove where it came from. We all do it.

The universe was not made randomly either. It followed the laws of nature, as all things do.

No god necessary.
