yes someone can be depressed without knowing it as depression can often cause confusion. someone who is depressed usually feels worthless and lost. there is a loss of happiness and joy from their life. they could be irritable or quiet and usually sensitive to little things.
depression is normal but it can also be serious. it can affect anyone of any gender or race. most people go through a state of depression at least once in their life and the seriousness can vary.
when im depressed, i usually feel hopeless, worthless, and tired, so i sleep. i find sleeping as a good coping method. i also am very quiet and sad. i have this thing where i will just sit down and listen to music and cry. i suggest that people who are depressed should do something to express their emotions, possibly artistically. or talk to someone who will just listen and understand.

Yes, many people have depression without realizing it. Some symptoms may include poor nutrition, withdrawal from friends, family, and activity, lack of interest in work/school. Most will become quieter and avoid questions of how they feel.
It is fairly normal to feel depressed every now and again, when you feel bad just take a deep breath and look around at the people, places, and things you love and enjoy and realize that no matter how bad you feel those things will always be there. Even tho you may be in a bad spot now, the problems WILL resolve and you will feel happy again.
If you are feeling depressed all the time, like there is no way out, talk to someone. Your parents, friends, co-workers, even bawling it out to your dog can help. If nothing else seems to do the trick, talk to a doctor. Medication can help, even if you may not want to take it.

Depression can include feelings of helplessness, indifference to everything, general apathy, fatigue, generally feeling "blue".
It's normal to get depressed from time to time about different circumstances in life. But, if the depression lasts more than a week or two and/or really starts to affect the way you live, then you should seek help.
Talking to someone about how you feel often helps serious and less serious bouts of depression. Dealing with depression is something of an individual thing.
Good luck

Some of the symptoms of depression can be not enjoying the things that you did. Feeling like you're being left out of somthing like you might not quite "fit in" the way you did before.

Don't define things. Everyone gets a little down. Find something to motivate you. Society makes such a big deal out of the smallest things. Then they become bigger problems...
