I have always been non-religous, and I have this question for all these religous people who like answering questions. Why should I worship a god if no "divine intervention" has been placed my way? What could I, or anyone else be possibly gaining or learning from my worship? Does anyone have any proof that there might be a heaven other then in a Bible? Seems like a lot of guesswork and speulation to me. Plz dont just say "god rules" or something, put some thought in the question. =D

Your question is related to the cosmological argument for a First Cause of everything:

One needs to have a formalized understanding of logic and philosphy to understand the topic of God's existence. Here is a starting point:

Premise: Every event has a cause
Premise: The universe has a beginning
Premise: All beginnings involve an event

Inference: This implies that the beginning of the universe involved an event
Inference: Therefore the beginning of the universe had a cause
Conclusion: The universe had a cause

For something to have caused the universe it must have existed outside of the universe and time. That First Cause could only have been an omnipotent supernatural agent, God.

Another argument is one from design:

1. The universe began to exist
2. The universe has complexity, order and fine-tuning
3. Complexity, order and fine-tuning imply design
4. Design that began to exist implies a designer
5. Therefore, the universe has a designer

Premise 1: See Big Bang theorem (Hawking, Penrose) All matter and time itself began at this moment
Premise 2: Universe has complex designs, e.g, cellular DNA, Laws of Physics, fine-tuning for life on earth, etc.
Premise 3: Nothing ordered can come from chaos, an orderer is required. Laws of Nature are often cited, including Vuletic, as counterexamples, yet these very Laws are themselves ordered.

Premise 4: Self evident. If something did not exist, there is no beginner or designer

Thus, the universe has a designer.

Jesus does not freely give divine intervention if you don't believe. If you choose not to believe that is alright with me. You apparently know about Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit or you wouldn't be able to ask this question. You will have to make your choices, no one else is able to choose for you. It would seem like a lot of guesswork and speculation if you don't understand what you are reading. The only problem with this idea of yours is archaeologists have used the Bible to locate ancient sites. They were in the location that was stated in the Bible. I guess you will have to question the authenticity of archaeologist digs, also. It is stated in Genesis there was giants in the land. Low and behold they discover a giants leg. Guess if you can't accept the Bible as God's Word you can accept the historical value of it.

Dear Heartpro,
As far as I know externally their is no real physical evidence of a higher power of any kind. Lets talk internally, most of the world believes...deep inside their is a part of us that continues on after our human form dies.
our world has three belief systems of what happens when you die.
1) you decompose, thats the end, ain't no more, the void.
2) one life here to become good enough for god heaven orhell
3) muliple lifetimes/to experience all their is here and choose love/fellowship back to father or choose Dominion..

no matter what you believe two of the above are wrong.
If #1 is correct nothing you do matters.
If two or three are correct, the better place to be would be the love/father/. choose love/sharing/fellowship in all your choices
desire with all your heart to go back to father and you will have your best shot, and if we just decompose, your life would have still been more fullfilling.

What if heaven and hell are exactly the same except for one difference? What ever you invision heaven to be, imagine hell to be the same except for one difference. If you are in heaven you are sharing love/joy/fellowship absoulute bliss in all you do.
If you are in hell everyone will be dominion bent, acting without regard to anything but personal pleasure, personal gain, excersing power over others. Everyman for himself in all that is done. Everything else is the same. as above so below.
Now which path do/will you choose? LOVE or DOMINION

What's your source for your belief in the Big Bang Theory? According to that theory matter all of a sudden came together and BANG! formed the planets!? My question is if matter can not be created or destroyed where did it come from in the first place? Christianity is the truth based on historical and scientific accuracy. To explain it it would take some time. If you really want to discuss the matter please feel free to e-mail me.

Of course you have had no "divine intervention" coming your way. By your own admission you don't believe in God, and God takes care of His own. He wouldn't even hear you if you were to pray, because the first prayer He hears from us is the prayer when we accept Christ. If you haven't accepted Christ then God doesn't even acknowledge your existence.

Faith is not intellectual. It is impossible for you to accept and believe in God without faith. Even if tangible proof of God and Heaven were handed to you on a silver platter the minute it is out of your sight you wouldn't believe because you'd be so busy trying to intellectualize it. This is not to say that believers are not smart, on the contrary we have privy to God's revelation through His Holy Spirit. This is to say however, that the mind can't begin to wrap itself around some one as powerful and as loving as God is. For example, take Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." And John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Can your intellect wrap itself around the fact that while people are still doing all sorts of immoral, criminal, even heinous things in the earth...war, murder, rape, racism, hate of any kind...that God still loves them in the midst of their sinful behavior and that He actually sent His only begotten Son out of that love so that they could have everlasting life with Him? Who would do that? No human being would, that's for sure! But God has weather you believe it or not and you can't rationalize that fact out you just have to believe it in faith!

You have to allow God to come into your life. Im sure there have been times in your life where something happened and you just brushed up to coincidence, where in fact it was God intervening.

great answer kent... what the asker needs to learn is that even those of us with faith could ask the same questions, the point is that faith teaches us not to. BEST ADVICE: Ask God for the faith. After all, it's his to give.

You are correct... You can praise god all you'd like, you'll get no answer or intervention. No one gains from the god delusion...
