Actually God decided it for me, I just agreed with Him.

Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

I haven't. I guess thats why I'm here. I'm beginning to think that I am agnostic, because I really don't know what to believe. There are so many different religions, spiritual and non-spiritual thinkers, that I am consumed by it. I think you have to decide for yourself what you believe, but I don't want to become like some of the posters on Yahoo Answers......where my way is the only way. Your way, my way.....may not be it for some.

What I did NOT do was blindly accept without question what anybody else told me I was "supposed to believe in" -most especially when I came more and more to realise, that they couldn't even give a satisfactory answer to me why THEY believed in it. I came to realise that they were told by their parents, or family members, when they were young, that this is what was "true" and this is what they w ere supposed to accept, unquestioningly.
When I was too young to "disobey" I went through all the motions I was commanded to do. But nobody could ever command my brain to think and believe what it could not, and would not do without the kind of evidence of accuracy that it demanded. I grew up with an open mind, and since, to this day, nobody has yet been able to provide me with that level of evidence that this, or that religion holds the "ultimate truth" I remain uncommitted, and from the looks of things, I shall go through the rest of my life journey the same way.
What kind of "Mysterious Invisible Superbeing" would condemn me for being true to myself in my disbelief, rather than go through the robotic motions of believing something that I rejected inside ? If there is such a being, I would dearly hope that entity was far too wise and too smart to be nothing but an arrogant, self-serving, pompous, punitive, sadistic, narcissistic jerk. LOL

One of the secrets to true happiness is to define your beliefs FIRST, independent of all religious structures, and THEN find (or create, if need be) a faith that matches.

Don't make the mistake so many make - trying to believe fully in a faith whose dogma is contrary to your intuitive understanding of the universe and right/wrong. That is a sure recipe for unhappiness. Better to have no religion at all than to live a lie!!

Religion is about the rules, regulations, and practices regarding "spirituality". Spirituality is about knowledge and belief of the truth. Truth guides. So first define who and what you believe in and make sure that it's evident that the who and what of your beliefs are true. Most importantly, remember that there is only one GOD like there is only one you. Look for him and he'll reveal that "truth".

Born Catholic and as I grew up I started to notice other religions. Then when I looked at it this religion made the most sense.

I didn't.
It was decided for me.
The visitation.
Not everyone gets one like me.
My personality is one that required such a thing.
A miracle.
Yes they still exist.
A direct intervention by God Himself.
Why you might ask. Was it because I was so good?
No, it was I was so bad.
He came to save a sinner, ME.
One who was about to terminate.
One who was on his way out.
On the edge of the abyss.
Interesting Timothy T was 27 years ago the same as me.

i lived an apostolic life for my younger years. i realized that the majority of christians were just straight up mean and judgemental. i questioned a lot of other things but no one could give me answers that made sense. i slowly came to the realization that there isn't a god out there.
