I'm a big believer in that tipping is something a person has to earn, not their god-given right. So, with that said... if you are going back to the same person 1. do not apoligize for returning and 2. do not tip unless they go above and beyond. Also, instead of giving 20% you could always just throw down a couple of singles.

If the hairdresser made a mess of ur hairdo not only would you not give a tip but ask for a discount on ur next appointment, if they want to keep you as a valued customer if not id be looking for a new stylist....!

I'm assuming you didn't tip her when she screwed up, or for that matter pay her for services. If it were me, she'd be getting her payment for services rendered and her tip after she got the work right.
